In my defense, I'm a massive Pratchett fan, and as far as I know, a vast majority of the Discworld films are not easily available in the United States. So yeah, I torrented and saved the live-action versions of "Hogfather", "Making Money", and "The Colour of Magic".
I also torrented an e-book version of a childhood-favorite novel "So You Want to be a Wizard?" after my physical book got lost on an airplane. I wore that book out re-reading it so many times, and it was near physically-painful to have lost it. I prefer physical over digital, so when I both have the money and am near an actual bookstore (you'd be surprised how rarely those two requirements actually line up, and shipping costs for physical books are beyond painful).
Off-topic, but I totally recommend that book. It has a stupid name, but it's named like that from the main character finding what's essentially a programming guide to reality, disguised as a children's book. It's a long-running series that's been going for so long, the author had to make a revised version of the early books because technology progressed faster than her story's narrative, so people getting excited over computers being something new suddenly had iPhones about 2 in-story years later. (She also tried doing the same for a book where autism was a major topic, and people had learned a lot more about autism since it was originally written, but in doing so, absolutely ruined the story itself. The story wasn't offensive or disparaging towards people with autism anyways, so I actually think the original was just fine if you go off the thought that the teenage main characters simply had some wrong ideas, and the person in question had some special supernatural circumstances that just resembled autism to somebody without all the relevant information.) My original copy of the book was the original version, by the way, and it's getting more difficult to find physically as well.
Back on-topic, I've also torrented some games and Clip Studio Paint. The games, I keep on my Steam Wishlist so I can buy a legit copy when it goes on sale. (I actually prefer Steam so I can delete the game from my hard drive and keep my progress if I re-download the game later) Clip Studio Paint, because it's insanely expensive when I only need one single tool (the Continuous Curve tool is unique in how it works, and makes a fantastic work-around for not owning a drawing tablet). If I could find a freeware program with that same tool, I'd swap it out in a heart-beat. It's literally the only thing I use the program for.
I doubt it really counts as pirating, but I also torrented SketchUp. It used to have a freeware version, and it got taken away when it was sold to whatever company owns it now. I don't even use it for any real 3D modeling, but it's nice to have a quick-and-easy approach for things that I don't need to fire up 3DS Max for. (I have a free student license for that one. Trying to learn Blender for when my student license expires, and so I can actually try selling the models I make.)
