As you all know, Pokebank will be available for us in December where we can transfer our pokes from BW/BW2 to our awesome X/Y game to finally complete the legendary pokedex which Ash never did. Now the inevitable question is, what about all those hacked Pokemon? This will greatly affect online to a greater extent where vast amount of Pokemon with perfect IV's will come and flood the online WiFi battles and making hours and hours of IV breeding feel wasted. They did mention that they will have checks to make sure hacked Pokemon won't get through, but be honest. They have never been good at preventing things like this, especially when hacked Pokemon can be made so that they can't be seen any different from a legal Pokemon.

Well here's my stance about this:
This clearly undermines the time people spent to get what they want. But even so I wouldn't mind at all. Why is that? Simple. Because compared to last gen, it takes less time than ever before to get perfect IV's on a Pokemon(I consider 5 perfect IV's to be a perfect Pokemon with a very few exceptions) through wasted time of breeding. If I was lucky i would finish it within a hour, and if I'm unlucky it could take all the way up to 6 hours. The breeding is now way less RNG'ed then it used to be than ever thanks to Destiny Knot and the remake of Everstone. For people wondering, i do both breeding and hacked pokemon, and i could say frustration on never getting what you want can be very tedious when spending over 20 hours moving your character left and right.

Here's a great quote from someone that explains it very well as for why it wouldn't really matter.
    Warning: Spoilers inside!

That being said, this wouldn't even faze the competitive game of Pokemon, because having a team of Pokemon with perfect IV's is a norm. You will be eaten alive if you don't come at least this prepared. It will however hurt the casual audience and kids who plays it in an attempt at trying to gather the most 100's Pokemon they can, despite the online only requires yours to be at level 50 at most.

What about you guys? What do you guys feel about this? And try to keep your cool and discuss this, as this can easily go out of hand.

And for those that are saying getting hacked Pokemon is illegal, then go and take a good look at the tournaments being held for the DS franchise. None and i say none that won them had legal Pokemon acquired through hard work of breeding. I tell you that. And this isn't even the point of the thread.

    TL;DR: Winter is coming

Yes, that's pretty much what I'm saying man.
Hacked pokemon within the legal bounderies will always exist.
But this time, it doesn't even matter. Becuase u can literally get a perfect IV pokemon so easily. (AND with the right nature, I should know, I got a few of them)
Basically, it's a hardworker vs lazy situation. But in the end, they all acheive the same goal.
I also do both breeding and hacked pkm as well. But I'm loving the breeding mechanics in this gen, I am addicted to it. XD

Yeah me 2. Ive been using my time from home to my university which takes a whole hour to breed my awesome pokemon. Its just waaay less time consuming than ever before. And to my surprise there is other competitive trainers where im studying which is awesome. That being said im almost ready to go and hit the online competitive team with a really lame team seeing how there is no limit on how much of OP'ness your team can be until smogon banlist is settled.

Yep very easy to do with friend safari takes like a few hours and to power level it is quick from lvl 1 - 36 easy just from doing the 4.... Do the 4 with exp o-power and lucky item you can prob get 1 - 40 maybe more. Not as hard as it once was.

Morley wrong to have hacked pokemon ofc. But its just morely wrong and nothing more. Nintendo won't stop it because they can't its that simple unless they want to go around banning legit players who might have got one of these pokemon in a trade from a friend they just can't (or if someone did get it legit but it seams to good to be true).

i wonder if you will be able to transfer pokemon from flash carts...that is what i am looking forward to finding out.

The most I ever did was edit the EV's of my legit pokemon.
With Super Training in X&Y, I can do that anyway.

I cant wait to have my Super Team on X&Y <3

You can't unless you trade them to a legit copy of B2/W2. You run the pokebank/transfer application on the 3DS, and it reads from whatever cartridge is in the slot of the 3DS. A flashcart can't do anything about that.

I did however forget to mention RNG abuse, as RNG abused pokemon is still classified as a legit pokemon in-game. I highly doubt tempers would be all furious about hacked pokemon as i believe 90% of the tempers here came here to do some kind of hacking/modding.

And yup what pokefloote wrote. A great example would be the dream radar. It wont recognize your flashcart at all consdering the flashcarts id is some kind of random japanese game.

    hmm...interesting !!

this will be something i will look into.

once pokemon-bank is released, it will be interesting to see if one could manipulate a flash cart's "ID" to mimic a pokemon b/w/b2/w2 retail cart.

otherwise...once could always trade to a retail cart and make "AR-Copies" of pokemon they want to send to X/Y

Honestly, it's taking more and more time to find opponents in ranked, people are leaving or getting bored.

By the time pokebank comes out no one worth battling will be playing, and scrub hackers will be able to battle it off with their generated mons. But I admit playing without hacks was fun and a nice chance of phase, kind of like dark souls were you spend a LOT of time playing the singleplayer game just to get the gear and build you wanted to go online, as opposed to games where you are handed everything to play on equal grounds (like dota 2).

I dont get your point really. Breeders and hacked mons stand on equal grounds. If your losing, then hes simply better than you. The online would have died out anyways because more and more IV bred pokemon will come and dominate.

    yep...gotta agree with ya !!

now that breeding and EV-training have become a lot easier and less time consuming, you should have no problem standing on equal grounding against "hack-a-mon"

    * online play is 80% skill and 20% EV/IV/Nature setup *

it's either you spend time super-training and breeding your pokemon...or hack them the way you want it.

you still need the knowledge/skill to use them correctly.

Exactly,in the end no one's gonna stop until they have a perfectly IV/EV trained team, one way or another, the 2nd way is just short, but if such option exists, why not use it ?

Honestly, you can do perfectly well with an imperfect IV team even against a perfect. It's a minor disadvantage but it's hard to measure what real impact it has compared to the picking/counterpicking teams, items and movesets.

My team is far from perfect and I do alright.

No I don't want any hacked Pokémon in the game I really hope they try this time to stop it. Just think of how bad wonder trade will be if all these hacked Pokémon are floating around....

This is why I never did battle in the old games cause it was just a hack fest.... which made it no fun to play this is why people get bored so fast u skip through all the hard shit and go right to the online battles with hacked Pokémon and own everything then get bored cause no one can beat your hacked team.

Just play legit its not fun that way and you learn how to be a better player and increase your skill instead of relying on hacks to play. So Hopefully they will keep updating Pokémon to keep out the hackers.

Is there even a way to transfer hacked Pokémon to a legit game cart without some special hardware? maybe they will have new checks that knows you uploaded an altered save file? Cause as far as I know there is no way to upload data back onto the legit game cart.

They said they will have some kind of check to make sure hacked mons wont get past it, but its gamefreak... u know.... And yes it will be transferable when december comes. Thats the whole point of the thread. About hacked mons that will pass the legal checker becasue their identified as a legit one. Of course a Poke with 252 evs in all stats wont exactly pass that check lol.

I guess if they can at least keep those kind of stats out of the game it really don't matter to me then that's all I was really worried about is people having Pokémon with stats that your could never get legit. I guess if they wanna hack just to skip the breeding part I have no problem with that as long as I am not going to fight someone who has a Pokemon with 252 Ev's

So there is a way for people to transfer hacked pokemon to a retail game cart?

Thats what i've been talking about. The only thing the hacker can do that the others cant is generate a legit pokemon within 5 minutes. Or atleast until we get a new pokegen. But even so i believe they have some kind of stats checker now to see if our hacked mon get past 510 EV. Or they should atleast seeing how they made EV so visible to everyone. So i believe even after a new pokegen comes out, they wont exactly be able to do alot online.

As of now YES they have been able to transfer edited pokemon in to the game, though the methods have yet to be revealed (Done by the creatoers of pokegen i believe). You can be safe to assume that no hacked mons past 510 EV's will come online until atleast a flashcart gets their hand on Wi-Fi at minimum.

well awesome then im worrying for no reason long as no crazy stats Pokémon can play online then I could care less if someone cheats there way past breeding.

The only thing I am worried is if they do find a way to get hacked Pokémon into the game Wonder Trade will be no fun anymore I Use it a lot kinda addicted to it I just don't wanna recive hacked Pokémon lol

I'm pretty sure by B2/W2 there was no 510+ EV pokemon online. When I was, erm, researching PokeGen and made some maxed out EV pokemon with 255 for each stat, and I couldn't get them past the online check. Same with illegal moves, more than 31 IVs, etc.
