Is it safe/posible to play pokemon X & Y online on a 6.1 firmware without having to update?
Why should it not be safe.
I think you need 6.2 or 6.3 for online.
My firend played online without updating his 3DS (The 3DS is 6.1, it's the colector edition)
I meant as in safe to play online without it asking for an automatic update as I would like to stay on the lowest firmware posible incase some new exploit comes up.
Ty Arnold, I will see if I can play online without updating when I get home, I have the collectors edition pokemon 3ds xl (red) aswell.
Chances are to low now even for 5.1.
It's safe to play online while staying on 6.1. I get a nag screen at the 3DS main menu from time to time to update to the latest version, but I just hit "no."
^ Pretty much that. It is safe, but there's a good chance you'll end up with the "update now" screen every 24 hours or so.
If you make a rule for yourself not to hit any buttons on the 3DS main menu (ie. you only use the stylus to tap games and whatnot, not button-mashing A/B to get into a game), you're unlikely to accidentally hit "yes" to update.
That's probably my biggest fear. Besides turning off wifi, is there a way to turn off update notifications?
I might be wrong, but I think even if you turn off the Wi-Fi, if the update nag is already appearing, it will continue to appear even with Wi-Fi off since it has already downloaded.
It's perfectly safe.
But... what does this have to do with Hacking & Homebrew?
No, I don't think there is.
Hmmm, would formatting the sd card or the system settings work for removing this update notification?
Formatting the system removes the update notification
Yeah, it would, but I'm not sure what would happen to Pokemon's save file because of the weird protection it has and it will erase everything you ever downloaded from the eShop. (of course, if you never downloaded anything this is no problem)
It's pretty safe to play online. I am using my 3ds at 6.1 (Too lazy to actually update).
That's for sure. I hope he will strike a happy medium.
Then just learn to live with it. It doesn't matter if you accidentally press A when the update notification pops up, it will ask again if you agree with the terms and conditions, and at that point it won't let you proceed unless you tap the "YES" option on the touch screen.
Unless ur using some hacked firmware why worry? should be fine Pokémon is a awesome game and I hope everyone here is buying it.
Sorry to change the subject . But I own the black 2 poke'mon rom on my DSTWO !
I am gonna get the real copy of poke'mon X , Are there ways to transfer them to my X and Y cart ? by trade YES/NO. Or I am stuck with them on my rom cart and can't get them to be in the box coming soon all my hard work has to pay off some how ?
