And Lumiose is huge. Took me 15 minutes to find the pokemon center. The 3d camera effects made it worse though.

Man, that Exp. All is fantastic, it doesn't take experience from the fighting Pokémon and the other Pokémon get half of what it gains.

Any pokemon who take part in battle actually get the 100% xp. This was revealed many pages back.

Chepsin isn't that bad honestly. I think it somehow shares the same fate as torterra (bulky defenses but horrible speed).

But X and Y are generally grass type unfriendly, so it's quite a bit of a challenge.
