Gaming Pokemon X and Pokemon Y discussion/update thread

Can anyone link me to a nice simple list of the differences between X and Y that you know of or know via the internet? Im not going to buy both but im just wondering if there is any major differences that could really make me regret buying one over the other. Right now im on the "buy Y" mindset, so lets see if any new info can sway me.

as far as anyone knows:
xerneas/yveltal
that crab/that new horsea
either of the plant/ghost types will be version specific I guess
spritzee and that cotton candy pokemon are version specifics
mega mewtwo x/y
mega charizard x/y

the day game freak make splash have a hidden purpose, like using it when its raining or you're using surf and the dmg depends on how heavy the rain is or how deep the water is, i will be every happy. It's been bothering me since i was a little kid >.<
