A certain local walmart here usually breaks street release dates, it's how I got my Vita and GTA V a week earlier. I'll be keeping an eye on that store this week just in case
A few people have been saying Tesco night staff have got them a copy. In our local tesco the tech section closes down at night but you can ask some staff for games/videos and stuff these are untrained and normally shelf stackers. If you go in and ask enough of these untrained people one will likely give you a copy of the game from out back not knowing its unreleased.
you are lucky, i asked my local walmart about it and they said they dont break street date. I guess they have the fear of nintendo in them
I remember Target had broken the street date on Animal Crossing New Leaf. When I went to buy it, the game would not scan at the checkout. So even if your store breaks release date, that doesn't mean they'll be sure to sell the game.
then i guess we are screwed, the closest gamestop to me is in a mall 2 hours from here. so even if they had a midnight release i doubt i would get a copy, due to them closing the mall up at a certain time. i dont mind the wait, as i still have to finish kingdom hearts 3d which should take a few days of my time due to level grinding so i can beat the final bosses.

Actually, that promotion has been running since august online, maybe even earlier. That's how I got my copies. But this is the first time I'm hearing about it being an instore offer. I hope I still get my copies though, because I just got money in my account today.
So am I the only one who thinks all 3 starters are absolute shit?
Of the 3 only Balls Frog looks bearable enough to pick long enough to shove in my deposit box and never bring it out again.
Probably the only thing keeping me from getting the game. As much as pokemon ends up boring the crap out of me, my friend got me a bit more interested in it. If only by a little.
So i'm on the fence entirely. Can't even do my usual pokesav a legit Ralts-to-be-my-starter thing.
Well a midnight launch only deals with pre-orders (at least in my experience because that's the entire point of the thing) and most if not all malls close down and thus stores in them couldn't hold a midnight launch because of that. Especially in America.
However unless you're unlucky, most stores bring in TONS of pokemon to sell. I've never seen it sold out before.
