to get a shiny u have to be lucky....![]()
Didn't even know about that event. He didn't specify if he traded or caught it though.Or he could have just traded for it... Right now a black/white/black2/white2 event is going on where u can get a shiny dialga palkia and giritina for free.
The only shines ive ever caught were shiny wingull and red garados.
Caught it in PlatinumDidn't even know about that event. He didn't specify if he traded or caught it though.
Ahh, Red Gyarados, I remember how special I felt when I got that back in Gen 2.
Save before a legendary, catch it a few times. If the stats differ at all, then it's not set when you start a game, it's set on it's own generation like everything else. But to get a shiny legendary is really lucky. If I'm not mistaken, once you start a new game is when all of the legendary Pokemon are given their values.

Soft Reset (Useful for Legendaries and Shiny Starters (Gen. II to Gen. V))
One method which is easy enough (but often very time consuming) works for starters and most Legendary Pokémon. Basically, the method is to stand in front of the legendary Pokémon you will catch/starter you will take and save. If you don't get a shiny when you get your starter/battle the legendary, soft reset the game by pressing A+B+Start+Select on the GBA and L+R+Start+Select on the DS. This method can easily require over 1000 resets before you get a shiny, however with enough dedication and patience your efforts can pay off.
Yup. I got it without resetting though. That'd be much too tedious and pointless for me anyway.I'm at work so I can't try that. I probably wouldn't anyway, but I did look it up. It's decided upon the encounter. Apparently, soft resetting the game changes a value that could determine if it's shiny or not. Here's what I found.
The only shinies I've "caught" (No Gyardos/events) Would be an Audino, Charmander, and Groudon.

When i was a kid i always played pokemon sapphire, thats where i found my first shiny pokemon and it was kyogre.
At the time i thought he was ugly and refused to catch it so i killed it. Really regret that now though...![]()
