...so mega forms are temporary and in battle only.
probably require a hold item (that may or may not be event only) and pretty much only change ability and selected stats.

i'll bet you that theres maybe two pokemon that will profit from this, while all the other ones will still be better off with a choice item or the other typical hold items

just waiting to hear that the mega stone is a consumable

Well you are going to use them in battle anyway so it makes no difference if its temporary or not. What use is there outside of battles? I just hope they mega evolve as soon as they come out. XD They will revert back after a battle. Yes they have to hold a megastone related item.

well, as i said, the item thing alone probably is enough to make most of em be outshined by life orb/choice items.
it being temporary might also imply that it only holds for a few rounds. maybe it works just once per battle. or it requires something else. maybe a relic song type of move for every pokemon?
theres so much that could go wrong at this point.
what if it ends up being berserk-gene 2.0? i dont know a kid on this planet that didnt by accident waste this one use only item while trying to find out what it would do.

not that i generally dislike the forms or anything. i'd take them all as new formes or evolutions. but losing hold items over what probably is not a x1.5 increase in stats...

well looks like the only way to get Mega Blaziken is through this event and each pokemons Mega stone is unique

That supposed dna thing from the pokemon logo is a mega stone, isnt it?

theres just the slightest hope that more mega stones and modes could be patched into the game as time goes on. which would be the only way that i could accept event mega stones as something good

I am quite happy with the new Mega forms! I am glad to see they are still coming up with new ideas and still trying to improve Pokemon!
It's funny how people complain when they don't change anything and when they do change things, those same people complain. I say just be happy they are still making these games and enjoy the changes!
