Basically, this means that every region's cartridges will contain the exact same rom in them, and thus would be region-free.
And choosing the language means you'd be able to access Japan-only events without having to buy the Japanese versions on the net, right? That is, unless they did something super-special-awesome and allowed everyone to access every Wi-Fi event no matter what, in which case it wouldn't really matter.

I don't think it works this way, and, since they will be release it the same day worldwide... surely they will put the events worldwide too... they talk about this since the game was reveled, they want this game to be something that the whole world can enjoy it at the same time... so, this time, events have to be open for everybody...

I think when the creator said that, it was to reduce the time between the releases of Japan and overseas. I mean seriously, when we get the main games, Japan already finished the games. They want to change that.

It just because DS game don't have region lock that all. And now they have region-lock, it hard to say they will use it or not.

When you play Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, you'll be able to select from seven languages at the beginning of your adventure! In previous games in the main Pokémon series, you were limited to using just one language. Now you can play in English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, or Italian! B/W/B2/W2 are DSi-enhanced games. DSi-enhanced games all have a region-lock when played on a DSi(XL) or a 3DS except those four games.

I just noticed something... Because I'm not really feeling this whole unnecessary filler arc in between the replacement Team Galactic arc and the Kalos Region arc, I looked at when it would actually end... and somehow, the dubbed version of the episode that Alexa and the new Pokemon will premier in will air the day before the release of X & Y.

you guys, they will never add more saves. because more saves = less sales. just imagine a family with three kids didnt have to buy three games every generation.

also, obviously the games will still be region locked. having all languages does not mean there is no reason to do it. actually, its a valid reason to add region lock, as people could otherwise go and order the game in a country where its cheap. and they dont want that.

^ that plus if saves data is limited if we had more saves which would mean less data for the game to use. e.g. the number of boxes which we store pokemon in will be less

what if you can travel to all the regions I mean they skip Hoenn and there's no official confirmation about r/s/e remake and from the trailer all pokemon are available for catching so I'm just assuming .-.

All Pokemon are available to catch in every main Pokemon game. This is a new generation, surely we'll see old trainers coming back, but we most likely won't be traveling to other regions.

I meant, in order to change your language, you may have to start a new game on a different save (effectively deleting your current one). Of course, that's just a theory.
