The official site says it all.
Junior Division: Born in 1996 or later
Senior Division: Born in 1995 or earlier
Are you like. . .not born or something?
I was just getting ready to say "What are you talking about?" but you beat me to it lol
O wait. I thought that said "1995 or later", lol. I'll edit that...
kinda dumb. I bet you'll see teams filled with hacked pokemon and legendaries which are over-leveled and have OHKO movesets which take takes out the challenge in the tournament
Obviously movesets will have to be in the practical range. As well as within stat maxes . . this is an official tournament we're talking about. . . they may be hacked, but they were hacked within a certain range.
I went to Pokemon Rocks Seattle back in '04, and the tournament they ran there used standard competitive play rules (ubers banned, no-otk, 1 of each item, sleep clauses, etc).
In fact, I think I have video somewhere of the finals/semi-finals.
Ye, looks like they've banned ubers. No clauses though.
Also, max level is 50.
wait im so confused.... is the first round online? then the winners get invited to the CA/NY tourney?, or do you actually have to live near or go to NY or CA to get in the first round.....
I don't care if you don't care.
lol.. this tournament actually kind of got me interested. I've actually stopped playing Pokemon after Gold/Silver. So I'm so outdated. But I just went on youtube and looked at some of the pro battles. Wow, I never knew pokemon involved so much more strategy.. lol. Well, against a human player of course.
Rofl. Sorry.. it just reminds me of an inside joke with my friends.
so since they "check ur devices for alteration" does this mean u cant have a flashcart
Although I can't join because I live in Canada, for once, I'm glad I have a legitimate cart.
Yeah, and I'm sure they also check for Action Replay and such.
Pokemon tournament sounds fun...if this were like three years ago!
Pokemon game formula is getting old!
What are you talking about?
Competitively play has changed dramatically since the release of D/P.
Yeah it's so hard to actually formulate the 'perfect team' I've gotta try to balance their Type Weakness with move and strategy variety to cover everything from Status-inflictions to just plain out beat down
on a sidenote... Oooh you can use Snorlax ;D
Too bad I'm not going down to the tournament to enter. . .
I'm still deciding if I should enter the tournament.
I think he means that the battles are aging. I agree because I never had that much fun playing with menus.
