Gaming Pokemon super mystery dungeon without sd card?

I wanted to order a PSMD on retail because my sd card reader slot is not working. Does PSMD need a sd card to save the game?can i play the whole game without sd card

Since nobody has replied to you yet, I have checked my copy and it does not appear to load anything from the SD card on startup (no blue squares or text indicating any access to the SD card).

Yep, I loaded it with the SD card taken out and it works fine.
