ROM Hack Question Pokemon S/S local trade safe with hacked console?

Like topic says, I was wondering if its safe to do local trades between a hacked Switch and an Unhacked switch.
I ask to be extra sure about the trade details.

Question: Do we need internet to do local trade between consoles in same room?

Husband has SHIELD legit physical copy on his unhacked Switch, while I have SWORD [XCI] on my hacked switch.
He wants to trade pokemon so we can both legit complete our Pokedex without using PKhex.
If I trade with him a pokemon that isnt altered in any way by cheats and save-editors, can he safely play online if he ever gets the Nintendo online service in the future?
Or is Local play/trade is his only option if he ever trades with me?

Seem to be fine, I been trading back and forth between two units locally, one hacked, one online no issue.

I tried to trade locally between my switch modified and a legit one but they seems to not conect.... Anyone can tell me why???

Make sure your legit switch is in local communications mode.

Yes, I've done both with a hacked and unhacked switch.
