Pokemon Presents February 27, 2025 - Pokemon Champions announced

It's the 29th anniversary of the release of the first Pokemon titles, and to celebrate, The Pokemon Company has a handful of announcements and reveals to make. A 20-minute presentation was released, giving us an update on new and existing Pokemon projects.

First off, Netflix's Pokemon Concierge show will be getting new episodes later this September. The first four episodes are available to watch on YouTube if you're interested in seeing what the show is like.

Pokemon GO is still getting content. Kyurem will be featured in a new raid.

Pokemon Masters EX is celebrating its 5.5 year anniversary, adding a new form of the pair of protagonists from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Pokemon Cafe Remix is receiving an update as well, with new outfits, tomorrow.

A Cresselia vs Darkrai matchup is coming soon to Pokemon Sleep.

Suicune, Aloan Raichu, and Alcremie are the latest roster additions to Pokemon Unite later this year.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will be adding a Sinnoh-themed booster pack, called Triumphant Light, releases tomorrow. Ranked matches arrive at the end of next month. Mega Evolved cards will be included in a new update later this year.

Scarlet and Violet are getting an update that lets you change the look of your Rotom phone. Mass outbreaks of red, green, and blue Pokemon will appear from February 28 until March 20. Terra Raid events are on the way as well.

Pokemon Champions is a new Pokemon title, which will be released on mobile and Nintendo Switch. This is similar to Pokemon Battle Revolution. Game Freak will be doing the planning, while The Pokemon Works is developing. This is meant to bring the core Pokemon battles to a wider audience. It also supports Pokemon Home. The game will be available in nine languages at launch, including Latin American Spanish.

Pokemon Legends Z-A has new footage to showcase. Chikorita, Totodile, and Tepig are the starters. Mega Evolutions are in the game. This game takes place in the modern era, as opposed to Legends Arceus's past theme. Battles are more active in this game. It'll be out late 2025.

Why won't this franchise just FUCKIN' DIE.
Because, Money, Nostalgia, and it's gotten that big. If you don't like it, just ignore it. Sounds like you're complaining for the sake of complaining. Makes you look like the guy screaming "Quit having Fun!" because you don't like the thing. Give some genuine criticisms if you want to make your distaste regarded as something meaningful.

First trailer in a year and it revealed almost nothing. Was hoping for just one new mega reveal. Oh well.
Well maybe something will turn up latter in the year. I don't expect radio silence until launch.

Nah, it needs to continue, it's just they don't work with their hearts anymore...
They need to do, otherwise yes, the franchise deserves to d*e.
That is why I was excited for palworld. Something to get them off their tails and get them to really put some work in. But the only work I see them putting in is the legal department. I hope this legends game turns out as good as the last one.

Palworld is not really a competitor to Pokémon. They just have creature collecting and designs in common. One is a survival/crafting game with action combat and the other is a turn based RPG. I never played Ark, but from what I've seen, Palworld looks more similar to that then Pokémon. At least gameplay wise. Creature designs though... You know how it is :D

I will be happy only when the name "Pokémon" will be officially wiped away from existence.

kind of disappointing that even here at the end of the switch's life cycle it seems like they still haven't gotten their games to look at least comparable to other switch titles. also, coming off of legends arceus being the last pokemon game I've enjoyed...partially because more of the game is about literally anything else beside pokemons combat system...I want to be excited for legends za but I just can't shake this feeling that they'll still find a way to ruin something fun
