Hacking Pokemon Platinum wii connection worth it??

I'm thinking of play pokemon platinum with dstt, but dstt has problems with ds to wii connections...
So my question is do you guys think its worth buying for a real pokemon platinum cartridge, or should I just play it on dstt??

I have a wii, and I have enough points to buy pokemon ranch.
