Yeah. I just kept dieing, going back, leveling a pokemon up, dieing again and repeating the process until I eventually beat him. It's a nice way to train. XD

I'm doing the Valley Windworks thing right now, but I have no fire pokemon on my team. >.< Dratini, Bayleef, and Croconaw are ma team members. Who should I add for fire?

Anyone know how to make Pokemon you added through pokesav appear on your pokedex without trading them to another person and trading back?
Hatch it as an egg or make it appear and catch it in pal park

Well you should be able to find a ponyta, and you should have caught some of the fire starters.

Reporting a problem:
While playing this on my Cyclo, it froze on me twice (once after having just caught a Chimchar, and once while entering a battle).

It's probably my flash cart (blowing on it helped fix the problems it seems), but it seems that PPEE is more taxing on the DS (somehow) than the original Platinum is.

Oh, and are Piplup and Chimchar always so hard to encounter? I've only encountered one Chimchar (the one before the first freeze) and not a single Piplup, and I've been searching Route 202 for a few hours now

Someone has just pointed me to a guide about what the percentage rates in each box are, and how the exceptions (time of day, slot, pokeradar) are handled.

Pokemon Catch Table and Substitution Guide

Time to start working on the guide again, this time adding percentages.

...no wonder I can't find those two. 1% encounter rate...but 11% in the morning.

EDIT: It seems that the Catch Table might not be accurate for Platinum. According to it, Chimchar and Piplup should have replaced Squirtle and Chikorita in the table. Yet I encountered both of them while hunting for Chim and Pip (both of which I did eventually catch

) I just have to figure out the right substitutions before doing anything to the guide.

Does Jirachi have a .1% rate? Or is it found in the morning only? I've been looking since like the afternoon till now for it! *eyes bleeding*

^ use REPELS.
Jirachi can be found at lvl 30, and Jirachi has no time of the day requirement.

Based on my experience,
I have already seen 2 Jirachis in less than 5 mins., using Max repels.
Caught one, and tried to kill the other one.

Imo, the catch table doesn't really matter.
It might take you lots of time to finish it. But, if WPEDS has the same pattern for
all areas, that might be an easy job.

And oh, btw
For me, Mudkip is the hardest to find (base on WPEDS), since Mudkip has the lowest
level in that area and does not require time of the day.

QUOTE said:
What do you mean by no line breaks? If you mean no lines inbetween pokemon, that's because I wanted it to be viewable on multiple screen resolutions without distorting the guide too much.
Also note the guide was typed up with it displayed on a widescreen monitor...

I have a 1280x800 screen resolution, that means widescreen.
But, the guide(text) is still incompatible, with my laptop.

I'm trying to fix it myself though.
Hopefully, I can share a friendly version

I'll ask again:

Does anyone know where or how I can get a PokeRadar WITHOUT cheating? I seem to be unable to get one because I already had the National Dex before. So does this mean I have to use PokeSav? =/

Bah, I really want to chain for some shinies ;_;

I have restarted PPEE 1.3, using a DSi and AK2i with AKAIO.
Before I started, I looked in xvolution's guide to find the first place I could catch STARYU or STARMIE.
The guide shows Twinleaf Town [super rod] for a STARMIE, so I used pokesav to get a super rod.
I caught a STARMIE and put it on the team! Great start! But I have a question.

Later I used dslazy to unpack the ROM and looked at pl_enc_data.narc with WPEDS.exe as I played.
WPEDS shows that I should be able to catch a STARYU in Twinleaf Town with an old rod.
This is not confirmed by xvolution's guide and I spent considerably longer trying to catch the STARYU with an old rod than it took to catch the STARMIE with a super rod.
Should the guide include Twinleaf Town [old rod] for a STARYU, and was I just not patient enough?

The Looker glitch is still there when returning to Jubilife City after getting the first badge, except this time Looker was a gray square instead of a black square in PPEE 1.0. A short time later, I decided to try using the pokeradar I received with the trade in Oreburg City.
The screen went black! I could hear the music and I could not do a soft reset.
After I turned power off, restarted and tried the pokeradar again, it works fine. I wonder if this was related to the Looker glitch?

I tried the warps from the Mining Museum - interesting. Is it possible to return from Mt. Coronet to the Museum?
Through the mountain or into the hole? I was at too low a level to survive long enough to find out. I did not have my big Starfy with me.

Hello everyone
smile.gif

First, congratulations for PPEE, it seems to be a great version =)
I've a little particular question ;
I'm french, and someone I know has translated PPEE into french (I don't know how he did, but he gave me the game xD).
The problem is that it's the 1.1 version. He's gonna uptade it after our exams (yihah

).

I'd like to know if, if I begin a game with the 1.1, and then take the 1.3, the save will still work ?
I don't want to start a game and then restart another...

Thanks

@Stronox

I do not know about the French edit, but I started Platinum with a clean ROM and have used the save to continue the game with PPEE 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and finished with 1.3.
No problems with the save! Enjoy.
