The Pokemon miniseries anime that was shown off a few weeks ago has been confirmed to show in the West. The "Pokemon Origins" anime will be shown on November 15. There will be 4 episodes in total.

This may actually be something I could end up watching. Pokémon doesn't interest me that much any more in general, but I do play the odd GC gen games now and then :P

Because the "story" of Pokemon Red/Blue needed to be retold?

Even as someone who spent countless hours on the original games growing up, I can't say I see the appeal here. "Muh nostalgia!" only goes so far.
Looks better than the original anime, that's for sure.

To be fair, I bought Soul Silver mostly out of nostalgia and got 80 hours out of it... but I do see your valid point.

To be fair, I can get that. You're getting the actual game with all the benefits of updated mechanics and presentation. The nostalgia is nice, sure, but it can stand on its own as well.
