I imagine it's unlikely but do you think we'll have a chance to catch all of the legendaries/mythics with the wormholes? Assuming that's even editable. I know the umbra/nova didn't allow for any unobtainable legendaries becoming obtainable but figured it'd be worth asking.

From what I can tell, each of those is a static encounter with the scripting triggering them being version specific. So I won't be able to remove the version specificity from them, unfortunately.

Would you consider making an extra version where pokemon stats are altered? Like Drayano did in his hacks.
I just find myself instantly drawn to the strong meta pokemon during the game but I'd love for other pokemon like Ribombee and Dlehmise to be able to match or even beat that powerlevel.

Ribombee is amazing and I will hear none of this slander.

If i begin the ultra moon game and then install the romhack(when its available) will I lose any progress??

If you're using the luma method, no, that wouldn't replace your save. If you're installing it as its own CIA, I think you could transfer the save over there. Basically, no, you won't lose any progress.

While this is technically true, my hacks are basically unplayable if you use a save that's made progress on the default game. My level curves are much higher so you'd have absolutely no chance of success using a team that's leveled for the normal game midway through my hack.

Possibly, but then one can take advantage of the exp grinding against wilds since it carries over the Gen 5 formula, a person can level their team up in due time, especially if they get the Ride Charizard and can control where they'll go quickly. Playing through the Gen 7 hacks, I was either barely overleveled or at opposing trainers' levels, I couldn't personally tell the Gen 5 EXP calculation was present as a result. I didn't know about it at all until you brought it up.

Really happy to hear that progress has started. I'm gonna hold off on playing through USUM until the mods are available; I want to have the same amazing first-experience with this game that I did with RR/SS. Had a lot of trouble going through NS/UM after playing the base games because of all the cutscenes, even though the design of everything was fantastic.

Random question, though. One thing I noticed is that in NS/UM, the title screen is completely different. Compare this to RR/SS, where it was just the logo that was changed. I'm assuming that Sun and Moon's title screen is a movie file, whereas Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby have a UI file...otherwise I'm kinda curious as to why you decided to change the entire title sequence. Will this also happen with US/UM's hardmodes?

Beat Umbra Moon some months ago (well, the elite four, anyway; last I played I lost to Dio Vento himself) and I wanted to make an account, not to brag, but to praise your work! Playing through Ultra Sun has made me realize in reflection how much I really did love my experience with your hack. Every time I would come against a story trainer I would be prepared for an extremely hard fight only to realize, "oh yeah, you only have four pokemon in the base game. huh."

I only had one main criticism with Umbra Moon, and that's that I felt like the original TM progression did not mesh well with all the new competetive trainers. I mean, I get to go against all odds and try to string something together to beat these competitive pokemon sets and it's a great challenge! But sometimes I just feel kind of cheated when every single one of these trainers is constantly using moves I don't have access to. That said, I'm not trying to say I know more about what you're designing than you do. Whatever the case, I loved the game. Even if you kept it the same for the upcoming entry, I have no issues with that!

In addition, I was amazed to see a lot of ideas shared in Ultra Sun from your hack too! Gladion having a Zoroark? Early access to certain competetive items? (Well, choice specs, anyway.) I couldn't believe it! I think the new games are full of potential for your difficulty hacking, even more than the originals! Keep up the good work!

Yes, the title logo is stored in the movie file this time around, the only way to change it is that.

This is great. Pokemon is too damn easy nowadays, made specially for kids. I wish Game Freak could insert a level of difficulty on Pokemon games. While it doesn't do that, we use Dio Vento Hacks...Which we love

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.

cyberpunk at 4k without DLSS/fidelityfx *might* exceed 12gb
    +1
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but that game barely runs at native 4k
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think it was some newer games and probably poorly optimized PS4 or PS5 ports
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
they definitely will age better but i feel dlss might outweigh that since it looks about as good as native resolution and much less demanding
    +1

When I played Cyberpunk on my old 2080 Ti it sucked lol
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
AMD could introduce something comparable to DLSS but nvidia's got a lot more experience with that
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
least amd 7xxx has tensor cores which the previous generations didn't so there is the potential for AI upscaling
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They have FSR or whatever it's called and yeah it's still not great
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
so AMD seem to finally be starting to take AI seriously
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Oh yeah those new 8000 CPUs have AI cores built in that's interesting
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Maybe they plan on offloading to the CPU?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Would be kinda cool to have the CPU and GPU working in random more
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Tandem even
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think i heard of that, it's a good idea, shouldn't need a dedicated GPU just to run a LLM or video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the nvidia shield tv has AI video upscaling
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
