I am quite surprised to see how Desmume 0.9.5 x64 isn't crashing at all. In the mean time while I am trying to look at the code/play the game...I have imported my save from the R4 to play in the emu...

At least this will pacify myself until one of us discovers the patch...

I WON'T go on record and say that DeSmuMe x64 works 100% though

Sorry if I'm being a pain in the arse but I'm far too busy to read through 80 odd pages. So I'm gonna take a guess and say we're still no closer to getting this working on any flash card, including the Cyclo?

We are still working together to make this run properly...

y = -(0.5)*(x^3) - 2.5x + 24
With x for the number of badges.
If we work with 3 badges, we have y=3
Ok now we know that after 3 events, it crash the game.
And so ?
I think each event add a -1

I enter in a building, y=y-1=2
I get out, y=y-1=1
I enter again, y=y-1=0, the game crash.
Maybe the value is stored in a var who do not allow value below 1 ?
That can explain why it crash after a "countdown", and why it won't load the game when the value is already negative.

This is what I meant about that it freezes, but if you open a touch screen menu, it wont.
Fascinating find, perhaps this would work nice as a workaround until a patch is released.

I think I remember reading somewhere, that someone would make their NDS sleep before the ~20 actions came up, and it wouldn't crash.

So, apparently, sleep/awake resets the counter? Anyone else wanna give it a try?

Please try this two code and tell me what going on

04000600 86000800
04000600 46000000

If both of them doesn't work together, try one after another.
Both of them don't change anything. Now trying the first only.

None of the three possibilities make any change.

Please make sense of this..

In the ARM9 Memory

Intro Screen

------------- 00 01 02 03 04
04000600 00 08 00 86 00
04000600 00 00 00 46 00

Those two keep on switching with each other

Game Start

------------ 00 01 02 03 04
04000600 02 00 00 86 00
04000600 02 00 00 46 00
After leave the house
04000600 02 08 00 86 00
Repeat

Freeze game

-------------- 00 01 02 03 04
04000600 02 00 00 00 00

so from my understanding is that 04000600 86000800 and/or 04000600 46000000 should overwrite the freeze memory dump.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
