ROM Hack Pokemon HG/SS fix discussion

3 Anonymous = Akira Chiba(the pokemon company), Junichi Masuda (Game freak), and Satoru Iwata (nintendo)

sunday morning news: Chiba, Masuda and Iwata was found dead at their home in front of thier computers, the autopsy told us that all 3 of them had laughed to death.

I have made some progress on this, I have it so the number of "events" before crashes is significantly higher than what it is originally, however have yet to disable it completely. Making progress for sure and will hopefully improve on that and have a fully working fix some time later this evening. Will keep you updated on my progress from here on out (was no point me posting prior to this due to the fact that I didn't have anything to post, so before you slate me for only having one post keep that in mind).

Just post whatever it is you've done thus far, at this point I'm fine with anything that's an improvement.

OK. Everybody needs to just stop posting all together unless they have something legitimate to post that actually contributes to solving the problem.
Here is all that I have to say/contribute after reading this topic, and the last.

-I appreciate all the work that everyone is contributing, souldragon keep it up!
-There probably is no 'set' number of events and Nintendo would probably use a more complicated formula then the one posted that achieves a more random result. but I like the way you think.
-It most likely has NOTHING to do with the 3rd badge. Why would Nintendo have something that sets off more AP at just the 3rd badge? Clearly, we should be looking for a more general solution, as there will for sure be more and more possibly different checks later in the game.
-a person only needs to be corrected ONCE. only one person needs to point out a mistake that someone has made.

Not trying to be all 'I'm better than you because I have morals,' I just want people to realize that Things Take Time. and being a pomus ass, or a clever commentator will not speed anything up. only ideas, hard work, and time will lead to the patch.

Because they want whitney to be more of a bitch?

be quiet. the reason is, it makes the game a preview, esentially, so you are pretty much forced to buy the game.

I agree that this is possible, but in my eyes I see that there is an easier solution that Nintendo could have implemented to force people to buy the game.....no preview at all. it would do pretty much the same thing.

but you all are missing the point. I just want people to realize that IF it does so happen that the 3rd badge is just a portion, a more general fix may be needed.

I can appreciate what you are talking about there tenentenen with the whole post but alot of people have found the same amount of things cause the same result and the same people have found the same amount of events shortens greatly after getting the 3rd badge and honestly weird anti piracy is nintendos second name there are alot of games that have odd AP measures like this from nintendoo to the person who said only people working on this should talk tthere were people working on this who no longer are because they dont have the resources or the know how on how to work on it any more if you look at the early pages i was trying alot of things and now im just testing other peoples codes and stuff

i meant as in, they knew that the game would be leaked/dumped, so they had to implant a safety net, and they made it so that you are extra annoyed about it, due to you having got a fair way into the game, and the they make it near-impossible to crack, forcing you to buy the game.

They probably just tried to code it different than the other AP, by using some mathematical gimmick, thinking we couldn't decode it. That, or they just love being jerks and making the game unplayable after you beat Whitney.
