To be perfectly honest, it'd be nice if there was a topic that only those actually working on fixes could post in so that they can discuss between each other so that there isn't so much filler in between the useful information, and the unneccessary math problems.

That is what this topic was supposed to be. The problem is, there is no way to keep other people from posting.

OK. Everybody needs to just stop posting all together unless they have something legitimate to post that actually contributes to solving the problem.
Here is all that I have to say/contribute after reading this topic, and the last.

-I appreciate all the work that everyone is contributing, souldragon keep it up!
-There probably is no 'set' number of events and Nintendo would probably use a more complicated formula then the one posted that achieves a more random result. but I like the way you think.
-It most likely has NOTHING to do with the 3rd badge. Why would Nintendo have something that sets off more AP at just the 3rd badge? Clearly, we should be looking for a more general solution, as there will for sure be more and more possibly different checks later in the game.
-a person only needs to be corrected ONCE. only one person needs to point out a mistake that someone has made.

Not trying to be all 'I'm better than you because I have morals,' I just want people to realize that Things Take Time. and being a pomus ass, or a clever commentator will not speed anything up. only ideas, hard work, and time will lead to the patch.

With 16 badges it does, at least.

does it just crash or does it delete the save file as well just curious to see how bad it is because either way it looks like that simple equation or something similar could have some ground in this conversation and im curious if that is the case and it is an imaginary value if it trashes the cause or if it just crashes the game

I have made some progress on this, I have it so the number of "events" before crashes is significantly higher than what it is originally, however have yet to disable it completely. Making progress for sure and will hopefully improve on that and have a fully working fix some time later this evening. Will keep you updated on my progress from here on out (was no point me posting prior to this due to the fact that I didn't have anything to post, so before you slate me for only having one post keep that in mind).

Uh, there's just a black screen after hitting continue. The save wasn't deleted.

I disagree. It would be just like a video game designing company to have you play through a significant portion of the game and then be unable to continue.

be quiet. the reason is, it makes the game a preview, esentially, so you are pretty much forced to buy the game.
