How do you apply the new -----Patch? I tried dragging the clean NDS file onto the patch but all that it does is make a BAK file

the bak file is the original rom before patching, just use the main rom file you just patched and it should work

The only problem I'm having with the games, is I can't switch Pokemon or view their stats. And I really want to switch my first Pokemon to Riolu since I just caught one. But I can save fine. I saved 3 or 4 times so far in the game, and had no problems.

So, i got the rom to load on my r4i 3ds, but it is ridiculously slow, and freezes upon selecting character. Anyway this can be fixed yet?

Been lurking here the past 2 days but this is my first post in this thread. I was stunned by the amount of noobs asking the same shit over and over again, seriously. I've been patiently reading as much as I could and managed to get things up and running just fine. No need to post 300 times if you just take some time and try to actually read some (a lot, actually xD) pages back.

I'd like to thank those who actually made useful posts. They were hard to find with all those spamming bastards but with some searching I found everything to solve all issues I had from finding a good rom till getting to the moment where I was able to play AP free~

Also, just another confirmation that the patch in the OP works fine on original R4 running Wood 1.49.
As said before, make sure the soft reset and cheat options are turned off.

Will update as I play. I'll try to keep my game on as long as possible to see if it's 100% fixed.

Well then, confirming it works on EZFlash Vi, with EXP gain and no summary black screen. Still cannot confirm whether there's freezing or not.

im on a R4I 3DS and i cant get past the screen where you choose if your a boy or a girl which everyone i choose it just stays on one text box im using the retrogamefan TT MENU with updated DATS on and R4I 3DS

How did you get TTmenu to load? mine just stays on a loading screen.

ijust threw it on the root with the updated dats then slected TTMENU.NDS from the r4 selection screen the game cant get passed the boy or girl selection though

what folder from Retrogamerfan's Multi cart update did you use?

Just pay the game on desmume until you get through that. And then copy it to your R4I 3DS but It won't save :/

Yes, same here I really hope there's a way to make this work for us! I haven't been able to play Black/White yet because it doesn't work on my R4 SHDC, haha..

Pokemon status black screen/freeze. Quite annoying, but you can use the PC to change your party members' order, unlike Desmume 9.9 and the battle freeze/crash.

Other than that it's definitely playable.

Anyone else getting a black screen with sound at the Start Screen? I'm using Retro's newest update and it loads up through the opening credits and cinematics just fine, but every time it tries to get past that, all I hear is what sounds like jarbelled music for the "Press Start" screen and black screens on top and bottom.

Any ideas or comments on this? D:

Did you get the latest .dat file from filetrip? I've been using an R4i-SDHC 3DS card. The only problem I've had, is I can't switch Pokemon or look at their stats. I can save fine, and my game works fine.

Try formatting your SD card, then put Wood 1.49 and the rom, patched with the one in the first post, on your R4.
Also make sure you don't patch the rom with an already patched one, cause it WILL screw up. Use a clean one for this patch and it should fix the summary freeze, random freezes and the exp.
Don't use the translation patch either.
And last, are you 100% sure it's an original R4? Like, the very first version made? If so, I don't see how this all fails to work =3
