There is no evolution in the darwinian sense in pokemon.
Its closest real-life counterpart is metamorphosis.

There is creation myths in them though....
However those are just myths even in the games, so they could complain about that I guess.

Actually, they did. Couple years ago here in America, many Devout christians in almost every state went on a spree, buying and even taking their kids' Pokemon games, Harry Potter books, etc. and making bonfires saying that they were made by the devil.
