ROM Hack Pokemon Black and White English Translation

Are there people that are messing with the translation in this game?
There is a guy in the first town north of the starting town that says:

"I always wanted a gameboy, but I got a PS3!" or something like that.

I don't think that is a translation at all! Don't you think Nintendo would get into legal trouble with Sony if they released a game that mentions Sony's PlayStation 3?

By the way, in case this was fixed in V4, I encountered this string in V3.

I believe that someone just put that in for fun in v3 but now that we have the story translation txt, we won't have random strings like that.

Nintendo wouldn't put something like that in this game lol

Hello, I'm new to the forums, just registered a little while ago

I am having a little trouble with the v4 English patch. I've done all the other patches, the v2 and v3 patch and had no problems. However, after I follow the directions, and finish patching my clean Pokemon Black rom with both patches (followed directions exactly), I load the v4 patched rom in Desmume, but when I play I don't gain any exp points.

I was wondering if anyone is willing to help me?

No. 4 just came out, be happy with that. We don't even know what is in V5 yet be patient.

I highly second this, because I'm finding a ton of main story events right after the first gym that's not translated yet. (The Dream Lot/Ruins is missing a good chunk of the Plasma event that seems to go on there. Not to mention anything involving Makomo. I haven't seen anything eligible pass the daycare in Route 3)

I would've thought more would be at least done by now if it was claimed that most of the important stuff was completed already.


Eh.. I guess there's always hope for a V5 next week to fix this. I was really hoping that I could've gotten a lot further in this version when I heard the new changelog >: (especially after completely giving up on trying to make this work on DSTT and went straight to Desmume for the time being)

Welcome to the 'temp. Please don't use an annoying font like that.

Try using the V3 Rudolph's patch on the ROM. It should be included (as another archive) inside the V4 download.

Hey, I've been lurking around for a couple of days and finally decided to make an account because I have ran into some trouble.

First off, I have a Mac. I know. Sorry.

After viewing all my options I decided that downloading the Prepatched pokemon black v4 by thrice was the best route. I did it, it worked fine. Ran great. It was in english. I was happy! Then I realized after the first two battles that I wasn't receiving any EXP. So I figured I would have to go the long route and patch it myself.

So I remember that you had the AP patch here and then you had the V4 new logo that I would patch after I AP patched the clean rom. So I downloaded the AP patch and V4NewLogo patch.

Now here is the problem, I am using an app called "Multipatch" for the mac and when I downloaded the V4Newlogo, the contents inside are a .patch file not a .xdelta. And Multipatch won't recognize a .patch file for some reason.

Can anyone help me with this? Am I even doing this the right way? I feel like I was soo close to getting it by myself (which would be a huge accomplishment for a noob like me who usually posts first thing on the forums with the dumbest questions)


Oh and something I forgot to add. Normally I would be happy playing the Jap version because I do know basic Japanese and it doesn't really bother me, but all the Rom's that I got (for Desmume) would do some type of weird button lock glitch to where my character would constantly be walking left or Up. And it would be locked that way. So I don't know what that was about, but with these patched versions that I played on I didn't encounter that? Hmm. Idk. Anyways sorry for the long post. And I love you all.

You obviously didnt use rudolphs patch it takes off the no exp anti piracy

No offense but v4 is kinda useless. There are more bugs than in any version. Also, there isn't any major difference from v3.

Alright, so there has been a lot of people playing v4 and wondering why did this version even come out. Well there were some minor updates that I noticed, but I also believe that Kaarosu should have waited a little longer and had some people test out the patch before it was released. Hopefully when v5 comes out all the bugs will be fixed and there will be some major updates. Not that I'm judging Kaarosu poorly or anything, It's awesome that he got this project started

, I just hope he makes some improvements on his future versions.

That is what we hope to do! Most of the bugs should be fixed in the next version and hopefully a lot more of the story will be added.
