    We already have Pokémon LeafGreen and Pokémon FireRed, but Pokémon OceanBlue doesn't exist... yet. I've decided to create this version. And this topic will contain the patch, information, changes, changelog, screenshots, and many more.

    Changes
    The difference between this game and the original 2 games, is that there are new events, 4th gen. Pokémon, new buildings, new places, and new Pokémon. But currently this project is at version 0.4.2, and the only thing that has changed is the title screen (see screenhots).

    Currently...
    Busy scripting; making it possible to obtain the other 2 starters later in the game.

    Use this.

    I suggest keeping the original hat color, makes it weird to have a different character in that one while Red was identical in Red, Green and Blue.

    (WaterBlue would be a better name, seeing as FR/LG are Fire and Leaf. Ocean seems out of place there.)

    Shouldn't the only differences be the title screen and some of the Pokemon found in the wild?

    I don't know how well such a simple hack will be received, but it's nice to see a fellow Advanced Generation hacker on the Temp.

    Most people don't seem to mind them, but obviously original hacks (New areas, Pokemon, etc.) are much more worthwhile.

    The found pokemon is a major change, might want to include that.

    I'm guessing additional pokedex entries are out of the question. [​IMG]

    There are 25(or so) extra slots available.
    However if you change the pointer to a free space in the rom to add something to it, the game crashes "most" of the times.

    Its been years since I hacked Pokemon Games lol. but I still remember how I was hyped to be one of the few that discovered that you can add 25 completely new pokemon instead of replacing older ones lol.

    Well, before 4th gen was released, 4th gen images started popping up on the web.
    What I wanted to do is, add those new pokemon to Pokemon Ruby game.
    Do you use unlzGBA? You can see that there are 25 "?" images instead of any pokemon.

    What you can do is, change the pointer of that image to an empty space in the rom, and add a differnt image of your choice. making it no longer "?".
    Also, the attack set of that pokemon can be changed.

    However, when this new added pokemon encouters in the wild, sometimes the game crashes. I tried doing dex entries for those, but again the game crashes.

    "?" = Missingno(sort of)!

    im very much looking forward to this i wanted to try hacking gba pokemon games but when i do there are unsightly changes like invisible objects, freezes, etc advanced map is what i used to use i tryed to move all the trainers in teh zone so they would force the player to battle however getting two npcs facing the player to force a double battle didnt work heh btw but im getting off topic so aside from the title screen changes what all is going to be changed and i think what rydian was saying the pokedex entries as in what text is displayed as the description for the pokemon as leaf green and fire red have different descriptions if thats not what rydian meant my bad

    I'm indeed using unLZ-GBA, but I can't find the question marks. There are about 2050 images. Do you maybe know the location of those questions marks you are talking about?
    I've found them! Even though I can only find two of them... Numbers 1171 and 1172.

    What do you (everyone, not just Tanveer) think of other music in the Title Screen? Yes or no?

    Those same 2 images are used 25 times. First one is front image and the second one is back image of the pokemon.
    If you convert the offset of that image to pointer and search that with the hex editor, you will see that the pointer is used 25 times [​IMG].

    I am assuming you know what pointer is?

    Anyway, if you can, sure edit the title music [​IMG]. Music is something I have never touched.. Sappy and any other tool for pokemon games were just too frustrating for me. Inserting new themes that is. Using any of the content already in the game shoudnt be too hard. Just a matter of changing the pointer [​IMG].

    I indeed understand how to do what you told me, but I'll do that when I've found Pokémon to use for this. Else it will be wasted time.

    Well, its your hack [​IMG]. Try to be creative and do things you wanted to have in a pokemon game.

    Are you a beginner? Well, you seem to have already started with the hack, but I would suggest everyone to start hacking with Pokemon Ruby. Most tools are supported for Ruby, and most detailed hacking info. Easiest to start with.

    Yes, definetely add new events.
    If I can remember correctly, advancemap can add new maps?
    Add lots of new areas, new houses, etc etc.
    Try to expand the story, and make alternative side quests [​IMG].

    I'm a beginner in publishing things, but not in hacking itself. I've already hacked Ruby multiple times, with scripting and new areas. Also Pokémon battles. I know the basics, and a little more.
