OK i have seen a few threads about on getting the Wii back to a factory fresh setting, ie removing all homebrew related progs/files. I am wanting to do this for my current Wii, which has a WiiKey v1 fitted and is currently on 4.1E. As i have no idea what crap is lurking on my wii from the last 2 years of installing crap on it, so i would like a fresh canvas to update it to 4.1E or 4.2E Thes steps i beleive to be correct are:

    1. Use AnyTitle Deleter to delete IOS250
    2. Run Wad Manager and remove custom channels
    3. Run Hackmii installer and uninstall Bootmii, HBC, DVDX
    4. Update wii to 4.2 (Through system menu)
    5. Format wii

    6. Run bannerbomb or Indiana Pwns
    7. Run hackmii installer (install bootmii boot2 & HBC 1.0.5)
    8. Backup Nand
    9. Run IOS Downgrader
    10. Run cIOS downgrader to 3.2E????
    11. Run Waninkoko's 4.1 or 4.2 Updater

Are these steps correct, regarding using wad manager, i know i have a few wads on my wii from ages ago and have no idea what version they are so cannot put the wads for these in the wad folder and remove them as i dont know what versions they are. Can ATD remove these wads for me, i know ATD can be very harmful so is there a list of stuff that you should never uninstall with ATD??

I'd be very careful with updating to 4.2. I was going to 'virginise' my Wii like you are, but with all the 'Error #003' floating around with Wiikey V1 (same as me!), I've decided against it. I'd rather stay with 3.2E.

I've been on 4.0E for the past few months with no problems. If you're referring to the 'Error #003' thing, then it's new in 4.2x. It's the error where the system detects an unauthorized device, i.e. the chip.
