hi thanks for taking the time to read this. i was using the simplistic mod that is in the stickies for the 2nd time on a different wii. both wiis were old like launch wiis. they both had been soft modded before but was doing this to update the files. the first wii installed the mod fine and works great. the second wii started out fine i got to step 4 where it says to install 4.1U (using a NTSC wii) so i was going to skip it because i thought i was already on it. i wanted to check just to make sure and when i went to settings the wii turned off.

now when it turns on it just goes to a black screen and says "System files are corrupted. Refer to Wii operations Manual" i cant get arround it. i have tried the "Save miifrii" and i get to the screen where it says 4.1U in the bottom corrner then i put in bushings auto boot disc but it doesnt do any thing

Please Help !

thanks alot love you guys

Well I have no Idea what guide you used or what you did. The message System files corrupt normaly means you have Pre-loader installed and then did something to IOS60 "CIOSCORP" for example.

Re-installing Pre-loader will fix it.

But again I dont know what you have done. All you said was I hacked 2 Wii's the same way and one works and one doesn't.

Hold the RESET button on the Wii while you turn it on .

This should take you to the Pre-loader menu.

You can run the Homebrew channel from there.

Then Re-install Pre-loader and see if that helps.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
