Hacking Please help really stuck and want to kill wii

Hello all

Found this site whilst trying to mod my wii to run a hard drive but I have run into a problem which I have been stuck on for hours.

I guess i am running 4.2 as it says 4.2e in the system menu screen

I have followed every guide on here and elsewhere to the letter and even watched the videos but I cannot get Trucha restorer to work.

I have the home brew channel and have loaded up the programme and followed the first step.Everytime I manage to downgrade ios15 but when I try to run it as the next step I get a load of random letters and numbers under the heading

EXCEPTION (DSI) Occurred !

what version are you using v1, v1.1 ???

when i skip this stage and go to the wad manager I get an error code of 2011 on the first install which tells me the trucha bug is missing

More times than I can remember

I must be on my 15 attempt now and always get stuck at the same place

Have you tried the old WAD Manager 3 to install IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad then use Dopiosmod v8 and use ios16 just a thought i dont know if it would work because im on 4.1

I have not yet tried that thanks I will have a look

my IOS 15 says it is version 257 and I always get stuck at this point of the guide :

Run Trucha Bug Restorer
Choose IOS15 & press A. (Important)


That is when it crashes

your doing it wrong the first part says
Run Trucha Bug Restorer
Press B to choose No IOS Reload.
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
Go to Downgrade IOS15.

I have followed the guide 100% at least 10 times now, I can downgrade ios 15 it is the next part which will not work

from what you said here it sounds like you haven't downgraded IOS15

I did look at that thank you I get to here :

3. Run TBR again. Change the IOS to IOS15 and press A (not B !). Wait for the text to change and press 1. Go to the IOS36 menu. Change the last option to YES (so all 3 options show YES). Leave the first option to 36 and choose Install patched IOS36. Change the option to Download from NUS and press A. Once its done it will quit to the HBC again.

Really ? it seems to run through that part fine with no error messages ?.

What version of ios 15 should be shown at this point then ?

Just thought I would add I am using the Modify.zip file from the download link and tried a similar one from elsewhere and I have tried it on 3 different sd cards none of them are sdhc

I have also tried to load the files using wifi in Trucha as well as reading them from the SD card

So you've tried both the TRB 1.1 and TBR MOD and they both crash at that point trying to load IOS15?

Have you tried doing the first step downgrading IOS15 again with both TBR's and then trying again?

I had this problem very recently, I found that if you press home on the Wiimote when the code dump happens it should boot you back into the homebrew screen, just try doing the Truncha downgrade again, it should work.
