Check the cirled flex cable. it looks loose, and I know that it is one of the cables that can cause your problem.

One on amazon, one on amazon but 3rd party seller and I told him I opened it and he want me to contact nintendo rather than replacing it... i didn't tell him i messed with it.
I think i'll return the Amazon one to Amazon without saying anything, I doubt amazon will check although it sucks a bit if somebody gets it...

if your going to return it, just say its faulty so it doesn't get sent out to someone else its all well and good ruining amazons day (it not like they don't dodge enough tax to cover the loss....yeah i know 2 wrongs etc etc)....just so long as it doesn't ruin someones birthday present or something

Say it's defective. If it's prim he can't say no. Even if it wasn't he will probably accept it.

yep he does but told me he would send it to Nintendo to have it repaired so in the end, i'd rather send it directly to Nintendo.
