Seems cool, but if you already have a PS2, odds are you can buy the retail games used for cheaper. Still a good option to make up for newer PS3 owners not having the benefits of launch models.
Yah but it'll probably take them awhile to get all the good games up there, and even still probably not all will be able to go up because of licensing issues (could be wrong there though).
Hopefully, they have the KH series in the PSS. I bet it would be a huge hit!
This would allow me to replay import PS2 games on my PS3 without getting a Japanese PS2.
Sweet! Problems are I don't own a PS3, good games will take a while to come out and I already have a FMCB running PS2.
As long as they're cheap like the PS1 classics, I'm definitely going to buy them.
Nice! But I don't have a PS3.
I like how Sony criticizes you for not purchasing the game on PS2. Check the image. Lol.
Wow this is going to be great.. Rebuying games I already own. Like paying for it twice, just to use it on my ps3 slim.
Lets spend money I know a 15 year old like me is going to like this....
Oh man, I WISH I'd bought that game for the PS2 instead of just renting it. Gitaroo Man was awesome.
I got a B/C PS3...and to make this a reality, would just further my game library. Heres to good gaming.
If this is true I finally get to play metal gear solid 3
You do know that Swap Magic works on the Fat PS3s...right?
You are going to love that game.
I've been waiting for this. The only last-gen consoles I ever owned are the GameCube and the Xbox. It would be really awesome if the PS3 could run Dreamcast and PS2 games.
This would probably also mean backwards compatibility for PS2 games on disc, like there is for PS1 games now. I don't think Dreamcast would be that easy though... Regardless, if they brought this to the PS3 with reasonably priced games I'd buy quite a collection of PS2 games. Otherwise I'd get them from eBay, so this is good news
You do realise that was photoshoped right?
I've got FF7 from PS1 classics, good move Sony
if u can get PS2 games on store, isnt it possible to manipulate the DVD PS2s and make them appear as a store download?
Anyway, the names up there are great... FFX, GoW, MGS, GT4 (great tri-lettered games)
