PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for March announced, features Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Next month's set of PlayStation Plus games are now known, with Sony announcing the lineup of titles for subscribers to PS+ for March 2025. Headlining the list is Dragon Age: The Veilguard, along with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, and Sonic Colors: Ultimate. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a notable inclusion, as it is a AAA game that only launched four months ago. These three titles will be available on March 4, meaning you have until March 3 to claim last month's titles, Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac.

Jason Shrierier really must be spinning at lightspeed when he tries to sleep every night becuase he tried to assert that Dragon Age Veilguard was a total success, only for the game to die shortly after release.... and then it was revealed that the game was a bomb... and now it's on PS Plus monthly games, but not even in regions where "Diversity" isn't liked all that much.

Veilguard wasn't a failure because it was a flat out horrible game, it failed because of the review bombing that took place by people that never even played it. The majority only trashed it because (insert "influencer" here) told them it sucked. Those people thought it was the cool thing to do & it was just the game of the moment to hate on. I've played it. While it's by no means a GotY contender, it also was by no means the absolutely shitty game the people that never played it made it out to be.

People still pay to play online? Have people not realized that Sony & Microsoft consoles & live services are basically obsolete due to neither console having exclusives anymore?
I mean...If Sony fanboys didn't learn after Sony increased the subscription rates for their service, then they're never going to learn at all. In fact, pretty sure a number of them doubled down on defending Sony's choice, and the ones that complained either dropped Playstation for good, or they decided to "suck it up" and paid the increased rate anyway.

Nah, it was a success, game journalist said so. Also, only good """"free"""" game on that list is the Ninja Turtle game. If I recall, the Sonic Colors remaster is broken, or was that fixed?

I was out shopping a few days ago and saw Veilguard marked about 40% off. The Deluxe Edition was being sold for less than the regular edition normally retailed for. Given that, I can't say I'm surprised to see it being offered for free.

Pretty sure it failed because it was bad game.
Recent AAA games collectively have been bad games and failing. Turns out, no one wants games with ugly characters, boring stories, cringy dialogue, and whatever else only losers from Tumblr would enjoy

You are right. The game did so well that the game director left Bioware and EA had to restructure the game studio (*cough*writers and producers layoffs*cough*). I'm sure blaming this all to the influencers is the way to go like all the game urnalists. Just ignore all the people that played several hours of this game, especially on Steam where they reviewed this game negatively while providing long paragraphs as to why this game is not good.

I simply think that it's fairly unlikely that there are so many people with such thin skin that they'll throw their toys out of the pram if they feel they aren't being adequately represented, because a game had people who aren't straight or whatever. Certainly some people get very upset about it, but there's clearly enough of a market with the rest of us for games to do well like BG3.

Its just... kinda feels like some are working backwards from the conclusion they want to reach, you know? I've heard lots of theory about this game failing because Woke or whatever, but strangely nobody ever seems to look into it if a game fails with only straight people in it. Do those datapoints not count for this study? We only notice when gay? Okay.
