Another month means another new set of games available to PlayStation Plus members. Those that subscribe to the service will get access to the following titles, arriving on August 6th:

  • LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga | PS4, PS5
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach | PS4, PS5
  • Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights | PS4
LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga features nine movies worth of Star Wars content packed into one game. Security Breach is the latest entry into the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, so you can keep up to date with the lore. Finally, Ender Lilies is a highly critically acclaimed Metroidvania game, which originally launched in 2021. All three will be available to claim until September 2nd.

The majority of everything I've heard about the Lego game has been praising it and Ender Lilies looks like a lot of fun to me. They both have very positive reviews & high scores across all platforms on Metacritic and Steam. There are two pretty darn good games here & the only real dud is FNAF. I'm not sure what some of you want or expect. Stellar Blade and Alan Wake 2?

They do. Often.
Even the bad months on Gamepass are not half as bad as PS+ though.
Gamepass August 2024-
COD: MW3, SOPA: Tale of the Stolen Potato, Creatures of Ava, Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, Mafia: Definitive Edition, Wargroove 2, Atlas Fallen, Core Keeper

That's picking and choosing and a completely unfair comparison. The three PS+ offerings every month are like the Xbox Games with Gold that no longer exists. If you're going to compare the above games to PlayStations monthly service, then you also have to include all games being added in August... not just the three extras.

Lego: Skywalker saga is actually a really fun game. I bought it full price when it came out. It's basically almost a lego star wars open world. Plenty of things to do and crap tons of characters to unlock.

This reminds me. If you're interested in LEGO games, there's a humble bundle with a bunch for $15 rn. It also has 85% off Skywalker saga

I wonder why xbox gamepass ultimate game additions are not covered on here only playstation plus games.
When we covered Xbox game pass games, the threads got very little interaction or views. Playstation threads always performed better, by a decent margin. But going forward, we're going to be covering all three monthly additions, as well as humble choice games, just so everyone gets to see and discuss the monthly games.

That's not accurate or a fair comparison. All PS+ additions are not covered, only the three monthly "freebies" are. The monthly Xbox Games with Gold titles used to be covered too, but since MS ended that program, they can obviously no longer be covered.

There's been better months. I hope to see some cool games on PS+ so it makes me want to subscribe again.
Not the case this month for sure!

I don't get it. Same as others. PS+ is more than just the three "free" extras. There are over 1000 titles on PS+ and more than just the 3 "free" games get added. Tons of those 1000+ titles are also not available on Game Pass.

But going forward, we're going to be covering all three monthly additions, as well as humble choice games, just so everyone gets to see and discuss the monthly games.

If all Game Pass additions are going to start being listed, don't forget to list all PS+ additions.... not just the three monthly "freebies".

Like in June for example. It wasn't just SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, AEW Fight Forever, and Streets of Rage 4. There were an additional 24 titles added to the service.

Cricket 24
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition
Monster Hunter Rise
Football Manager 2024
Crusader Kings 3
Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 6
After Us
Anno 1800
Police Simulator: Patrol Officers
Far Cry 4
LEGO The Hobbit
LEGO The Incredibles
Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord
Walkabout Mini Golf
Synth Riders
Before Your Eyes
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Chapters 1 & 2
Kayak VR: Mirage
Tomb Raider Legend
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
Ghosthunter
Daxter

And in July it wasn't just Borderlands 3, NHL 24, and Among Us. There were several more added including Remnant 2, Crisis Core FF7 Reunion, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes Complete Edition, and No More Heroes 3 to name a handful.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
@K3Nv2, I think the RP5 has had 8GBs for a while? I know mine has 8GBs not sure it's needed for emulation though? Probably 4GBs is enough for 99% of what it's fast enough to emulate? I could be wrong if it can do like GC and PS2 stuff maybe more is needed? Probably stream the ROMs like the consoles did off the drives.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I believe what they do is OS and translation layer (emulator) and the emulator has its RAM like 36MBs for PS2 so like 3 times that maybe as things are shuffled around, a frame buffer and. Load the data from the ROM file into that systems RAM. I think I read that even 2GBs is enough if your just using a Pi for emulation.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    What's an RP5?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Raspberry Pi 5
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
For me it's just an emulation machine
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Like a super mini system, I use Batocera as an OS and it's pretty easy to set up, has a ton of UI skins you can make it look almost anyway you want. Still would kill for a WiiFlow like skin (some are close)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I bought the 8GB model because my thoughts on that is the the difference between the models is like 20 bucks so why not get the good one just in case.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Almost never hear anyone complaining about too much RAM but not enough? Yeah best to avoid that one. Lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I did kind of overshoot on storage, a 2TB nvme drive and I think 1TB would have been plenty.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Probably have like 700GBs of stuff on it now, and don't think I can add much more.
