PlayStation Network suffers hours-long outage, services now restored
Beginning Friday afternoon, the PlayStation Network began to suffer from small issues, ranging from problems for users attempting to sign into the platform, or errors when players tried to view their trophy pages. As the night continued, PSN connectivity only got worse, with the entire network going down for all PlayStation users. Sony noted that "some users" were affected by issues, simply referring to a status page that notes that all aspects of PSN are down, at the time of writing. As of right now, there's no ETA as to when the outage might be fixed, nor any exact explanation as to why no one can access PSN.
Last year, Sony suffered a similar issue, where PSN was down for over eight hours, in October 2024. You can keep an eye on Sony's official PlayStation Network tracker below, to see when services begin to return.
Update: Sony have announced that all services have now been restored and that all PlayStation Plus users will receive an additional 5 days of complimentary service.
