Seed is needed only if it's not included in the cia and that means only select games which are dumped without seed end up needing it manually. If the game doesn't load when you select it, then you need seed, that's all, online is irrelevant to that. And there's nothing to be confused about, you have CFW, meaning there's no region lock, which in turn means it's perfectly fine to go online. SOME games won't allow you to use SpotPass though while online if out-of-region, so just use one of the EULA setter apps if you encounter such a game (eg: FE:Fates asks you to accept the EULA but you can't if out-of-region). People need to read through some basic stuff about CFW, we keep getting questions like that all the time on here for some reason:/
