Ok so i got DJ Hero for Wii today cuz its my b'day (*YES!*) and I just wanted to make sure that I can play without having to worry about anything,

Does the disc want to update?
If so get preloader and skip the update check.
Or load it from USB-loader.
Except updates, there's nothing to worry about, especially considering you got a real copy.
