I have a 16 GB SD card (MicroSDHC to SD adapter) and a 16 GB USB flash drive (goodram UTS3). Both are formatted to FAT32. The SD card has all the homebrew apps plus some games in .wbfs file extension and the USB drive has only games with the same file extension.
I'm trying to set up a game loader so that it will work with both the SD and the USB. WiiFlow only recognizes the games on the SD card and USB Loader GX only recognizes the games on the USB stick. How can I set up a loader that sees both devices?
In WiiFlow, when going to game partitions and setting USB/SD it still doesn't recognize the USB but also the SD games crash before opening. Reloading cache didn't help. Also the USB is plugged in into the port 0 (the one next to the corner).

Hello,

make sure your USB stick is in MBR format and not GPT .

maybe a problem of USB stick not compatible .

what version of wiiflow do you have?

you can test another loader ==> Configurable USB loader v70

please post a syscheck report here .

Hello! Thanks for replying!

1) I formatted the USB from GPT to MBR with allocation unit size being 32k, didn't change anything.

2) I have no idea if the USB is compatible because it isn't on a list to check, also it is USB 3.2 gen 1 interface if that helps.

3) Wiiflow's meta.xml shows <version>5.5.4</version>.

4) Configurable USB Loader only sees SSB brawl on my USB (I split it into two files using Wii Backup Manager because of FAT32 file size limitations)

Also my CIOS was configured by the wii.hacks.guide guide if that helps.

syscheck report correct .

you can try WBFS format with your USB stick (it may not work either ).

or test other USB sticks .or if you can test with a FAT32 external hard drive and see the result?

I formatted the USB to wbfs and put my games on it with Wii Backup Manager, and now CFG loader sees all the games, but WiiFlow doesn't. Also when trying to see the SD card in CFG loader, it says
WARNING:

Partition: WBFS1 not found!
Select a different partition or format a WBFS partition.

Does it mean that the SD card needs to be wbfs format too? How can I do that and save the homebrew apps and files, because after formatting the USB stick, file manager can't interact with/add files on it.

Also, I don't have any more flash drives or external HDD's/SSD's, but I have an internal HDD from my laptop (~500GB) with only a SATA port.

I'm trying to set up a game loader so that it will work with both the SD and the USB.

In ULGX, that's not possible AFAIK.
It can't read both the USB and SD card to find games (but you can launch ULGX from the SD card and read the USB for games, or put everything -apps and games- on the same device).

I don't know for other loaders, as I never used them.
USB Loader GX only recognizes the games on the USB stick

That's normal. ULGX reads the USB device *OR* the SD card to find games.

There's a setting "SD Mode" to enable in ULGX in the latest version (1281), to fetch games from the SD Card instead of the USB.

It is advised to read games from the USB though.

So, I guess I should just wait and buy an external hard drive for loading all the games. Can I use an SSD though? And can I use a SATA to USB adapter for an internal drive?

You definitely should get a HDD or SSD, USB flash drives die very quickly when used to load games. I recommend a HDD since it's cheaper, and the Wii U can't take advantage of the SSD's higher speeds anyway, but either one will work the same.

And can I use a SATA to USB adapter for an internal drive?
That should work, just make sure to connect any HDD or SSD using a Y cable, otherwise the drive won't get enough power.
