This is gunna be a stupid question, but if I've completed the Plailect guide on a N3DS, I can play whatever games I want on the 3DS, no matter what reigion they are? I have an EU 3DS, so could I play a US .cia of Fire Emblem Fates?

No, all you have done is to just have those funny flashing screens when you boot your 3ds. They are pretty cool though, totally worth it.

Ah shit. They were pretty fun to look at tho. So many colours, so many button presses.

As long as it's region free, yes.

So how do I check if a .cia is region free? Will it be in the description of the download or anything?

Yup. I suppose you're now using Luma3DS with A9LH. All you gotta do is download a .cia file (or .tik file, if that's the case) from that iso site of a game that has your interest. You shouldn't worry about if it's region-free or not, since Luma3DS has a region-free patch within the CFW. Install the .cia file with your favorite installer, like FBI or BigBlueMenu, (or .tik file, and "redownload" the title from the eShop), and ta-da! New game's on the Home Menu.

Welcome to the A9LH Master Race. ;)

Woo! I'm gunna go a little nuts over the next few days just trying things out. The process of hacking this thing has been a pain in the ass. Taken me about 2 weeks just to get everything I need to start the damn thing :P

Got any ideas where I should start, game wise?

Use CIAngel - you don't need to suffer through 'that' iso site

I'll give em a look! Thanks :)

Oh man, where to start? It really depends on what you're into. You can go for some main series Pokemon games, Super Mystery Dungeon, or even Mario and Luigi: Dream Team or Paper Jam for your RPG likings. Platformer games like a few Mario titles, Yoshi's New Island, Kirby Triple Deluxe, etc. If you're into puzzle-solving, Professor Layton games are the ones you'll want. You can also give a try with some eShop-only titles like Shovel Knight, Shantae, or even some Virtual Console titles. There's so many to choose from! X)

I'm still a bit skeptical about this, but it has been a bit of time now. Is it really safe to be installing tickets and downloading from the Nintendo eShop itself? It just seems to me that they can easily catch someone who's downloading something they never purchased.

Oh, another stupid question:

How do I play .3DS files? Do I have to convert them to .cia? Or can they be run directly from the file itself?

then don't use just the tickets, install the game directly or create the cia.

.3ds files are only playable with flashcards. You're going to want to convert that into a .cia file. You can either download the .cia file of the same game, or you can do the conversion. I recommend this guide if you're doing the latter.

Kay then, I guess. I was just hoping if there was a bit more concrete evidence that confirms if ticket installation is safe or not (since the tool has been out for a while now), like if someone got banned from the eShop or proof that Nintendo can't see you downloading from their servers without paying. I know this is Nintendo we're talking about, but it's best for me to play it safe and ask around first.

Well, nobody has ever been banned or gotten in trouble in any way, so far. If you want to, you can download the CIA using FunKeyCIA (on your PC) and then install the resulting CIA on your 3DS.

So far nobody has been banned for using CIAngel. We send no console-identifying or NNID-identifying information to Nintendo when downloading from the CDN, so the most they could do it ban your IP, but I doubt they'd do that (A large portion of the world uses dynamic IPs, so it would be a pointless endeavor). I'm not sure what type of information is sent when you install tickets and use the eShop itself to download the games.

If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction
