Hacking planning to migrate 9.6 sysnand to 9.6 rxemunand

I have eshop titles, some of which are probably on 9.5/6 encryption since I play them quite often, can rxtools handle the saves?

I have retail carts too, but none of them are on the latest encryption since I haven't played them a while, so they should be up to 7.x. rxtools should not have a problem here I guess? (assuming the target system has a sysnand that supports 7.x encryption)


PS: When I say 9.6, I really mean 9.7 since I will have to update for system transfer. I have not done it yet.

There is no 9.x encryption for save files, just 6.x and 2.x. Your saves should be fine in rxtools.

Then what is the 9.x encryption problem that was preventing gw from updating emunand? I heard it has to do with some new key introduced in 9.6

For the new 3ds only, 9.6 introduced new encryption keys for the nand. It's not related to savegame data. No reason gateway can't enable 9.6+ emunand on the old 3ds.

This is a bit of a problem as I do intend to migrate to n3ds eventually, I guess rxtools and gw is facing the same problem in terms of n3ds support..
