So I was planning to get a 3DS today in Gamestop by trading in my DS lite, using the Gamestop powerup member coupon (I'm a gamestop powerup rewards pro member), and paying $99. Unfortunately, my father doesn't have to go to work today, and he said he'll drive me anywhere if I need to buy anything. The thing is, my father NEVER allows me to buy video games. (Well, at least while he's around), and so I'm basically screwed here. This is the only day I'll be able to receive a 3DS for such a low price.

Basically, I was wondering what I should do up to this point in order to get the 3DS in my hands. Your thoughts?

    Edit: Typo

Hmm, if you're desperate, drive to a place thats like 1 block AWAY from the gamestop for some...browsing. Stray away from your dad and make a mad dash over to gamestop. It shouldn't be too hard right?

Edit: Making this foolproof. if your house has another car key, after you buy it, store it in there?

My dad would see the 3DS once we prepare to leave, which he'll force me to return...

Edit: He's the type of person who'll follow me around everywhere.

bring a bag. or something less suspicious.

think of a place where you're gonna need to bring a bag. or other reason that you need to bring a bag.

Oops, did you catch my edit? Store it in the car somewhere he won't see. Maybe in the trunk or something.

But he'll ask me what I bought, and he would want to see it afterwards.

Buy a diversion then. While your 3DS is hidden away in the car he won't see, buy something else. A sketchbook. Pens. ANYTHING. If its school related it'll make more sense cause school's almost starting.

Well it looks like your a member in a dictatorship, and as such there is no hope for you, give up on your dream of owning a 3ds for a low low price.

Random idea, take a friend and if you get quizzed they bought it

As I said, he'll follow me everywhere, even while I'm in Gamestop trying to buy that 3DS in front of him.

where do you usually go where you need to bring a bag? and where he won't follow you?
or what do you think is a place where he'll say "oh can we meet back at the car later?"

Why wouldn't he let you and how are you going to get more 3DS games?
    Did you ask first?

Want you get in the house, you going try to hide it the whole time?

Sound like a lot of work, even if you do get it pass him.

Side: Do you have everything: charger, stylus, and it full working condition?

That is a good idea, get a friend to buy it.

I bring a bag whenever I go shopping. I'm just trying to see if there's another way to buy the 3DS without my father being around...
Oh and he won't follow me if I'm going to go somewhere with someone else...

By the time he goes back to work (the whole weekdays), I'll have the time all I want to play it. He won't be home until 3am anyways.
I told him about shopping, and he said if I'll be buying any games, and if so, he's gonna take away my money O_O
Regarding the DS lite, I have everything intact.

Get up in the morning, sneak out, go get your 3DS, come back before your dad wakes up, go back into town like nothing has happened.

Edit: Or do what I would do and tell him to get lost.

I'm assuming the OP can't drive. But BloodWolf's idea seems fairly legit.

I can't think of anywhere else, since all I need to go to is Gamestop in a mall.

Can you go to the mall w/ your friends, buy it, and ask one of them to hold on to it until further notice?
