Hi all,
I have just recently had a friend by a psp with firmware 3.71 on it, not custom and never been modded etc. How does he play games from the memory stick on it?
It is an english psp, luckily mine is up to date with the latest custom firmware as it was originally a 1.5 psp but I am stumped and dont want to break my mates.
Thanx guys

Either buy them from the PlayStation store to put them on the mem card or else install CFW, there are stickies at the top on how to install CFW depending on what version you have.

Easiest way, get pandoras battery from www.dealextreme.com
use program of choice to install CFW

I used this tut for a PSP Slim: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=68111 w/PSP Grader

Before you go ripping apart your Phat battery, since you already have a CFW on the a Phat, you can use a software mod the battery to change it to a Pandora battery.

He knew that.. but if you soft modded your phat battery to Pandora, you wouldnt have had to buy one. However youve already purchased one, now you need to make the magic memory stick, Im sure someone can link you to a good tutorial, it isnt too difficult.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card

Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
