Ohh I see... I was at www.modchip.com not www.mod-chip.com. It's funny though because mod-chip.com was down so I clicked on the cached page that google has, and it showed the modchip.com page, so I figured it was just the same. Now that it is back up though, I see the difference.

Thanks, I think Im about to order one now. Just a question of what MicroSD card to get. I know that Kingston cards are highly recommended, but I hear that the Japanese version is the best. How do you know for sure which is which? In another post this card was recommended...

I guess that is a pretty good price, but I'd rather buy this one from Buy.com because I can use Google Checkout and get an extra $10 off. It also comes with a card reader, which is nice because I hear the one that comes with the CycloDS is not exactly the best quality.

Well, basically, you look where it was manufactured. According to the images of buy.com and the info they give, it's not made in japan. However, dz-tech.com specifies it and the images show that it is written made in japan on the micro sd.

It seems you can get 30$ off if you sign up for their visa card also for buy.com. You can get a free memory card, haha. However, like i said, it doesn't seem like the card is from japan. You could always email them and ask about it.

Anyway, to be slightly less off-topic, if any of you want an microsdhc, I'll rather wait a bit and see if the price will go lower and know its performances. Until then, I think a regular japan-made kingston will do a decent job.

2 GB is plenty of space for me. I fail to see the purpose on spending that kind of money on a 4 or 6 GB SDHC card. I'm never going to put movies, TV shows, music or anything else like that on there... just games and some homebrew software. Are the read/write speeds faster than normal SD cards?

And back on the note of the Japanese Kingston cards. Does it really make that much of a difference? I know it did in the past with some of the slot-2 and older slot-1 flash cards, but does it matter anymore? I've looked around on Team Cyclops' forum and have found mixed... most of what I think it just speculation.

I ordered two CycloDS from Divineo.com. One about a month ago and one came today. Both in the pretty CycloDS metal cases with the USB adapters. The one that arrived today the USB adapter is CycloDS branded as well... sweeeetttt.

No issues with them - item always shipped out the day after order and got the complete package. Hope you resolve the issue you had - best of luck.

Woo! I wanted to wait until I actually received the CycloDS Evo before I posted anything about it again.

It arrived on Friday Sept 7th with it's box, etc.

It works perfectly and I'm already letting it consume my soul. I ordered it from mod-chip.com for $54.30 shipped. It arrived in 7 days (their shipping said 3-6 days, no tracking), so it was late but no biggie. Thanks to mong for all his input!

I never had an issue with them (I've never ordered from them), but I heard that someone who ordered from them got the package late and only got the cycloDS evo chip in a plastic bubble bag. No card reader or box.
