So my computer has Vista Home Premium (legal) on it, and I am getting a MacBook and want to dual boot Vista. Should I use my Premium key, or pirate Ultimate? Is there a big difference between the two that I should pirate over legal? Can I even use my Premium key on a second computer?

Also, can I run the x64 version on a MacBook? Here is the specs:

    2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x2GB
    250GB Serial ATA Drive@5400rpm
Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory

Also, I don't care what anyone thinks about Vista, but I like it and it has worked perfect for me, so no telling me to get XP, etc. There is enough flame topics out there

The legal Premium. Ultimate offers nothing really big, unless you plan on doing Remote Desktop Connections. The Ultimate version includes things that you probably won't even use i.e. Bitlocker. You can only use 1 key per 1 install. I believe you can use the 64-bit version since most Macbooks are Core 2 Duos, which are 64-bit.

You shouldn't use the 64-bit version.

Thanks for the answer, I think I will stick with Premium then, but I can't use my key then, can I? Its an OEM install, so I can't just use they key off the side of the case?

Why not? I head with 64 bit, all 4 gigs of my RAM will be available

Because there's not enough of a performance gain to outweigh the compatibility issues you'll likely suffer with various peripherals.

I would actually recommend using the 64-bit version since he has 4GB. The driver support for 64-bit Vista is far superior to 64-bit XP.

I think I will download Vista Ultimate x64 - Preactivated Edition Dell Version and try it out, since I don't think I can use my key for Premium. If x64 really fucks with me, I will wipe the partition and put on x32

use the legal premium, ultimate has nothing good you really need. I mean unless you want ultimate.

You can't use the OEM key on a new install anyway.

    Pirate Ultimate.

    GBATemp factory.
Well.. Premium and Ultimate doesn't really have much difference.
Ultimate just offers some more "Busniss" like tools that Premium doesn't.

If you have an .edu domain name in the US you can get Vista Ultimate for $60. and you can do two installs, one on a desktop, one on a laptop. Available through M$.

    Right Here
    ????

So you are willing to pirate the Ultimate, one has to wonder, why did you waste money on the other then?

If you can ponder stealing it at all, what's your motivation for not doing it?

Its a family computer, and we upgrade from an 8 year old computer. PC was bought on Vista launch day, with Vista OEM pre-installed
