According to Reuters in London(Direct quote):

Looks like some countries are upping their game in combating piracy.

wow. what's GBAtemp's reaction to all this?

Who knew piracy would increase? Economic depression... Free games... I'm puzzled!

Then you got the bastards who are like the headliners who tell and convince people to indulge in piracy. It's like telling people they can get free food online instantly without having to go out and buy it.

They're talking about actual piracy, ya know a bunch of guys in boats with AKs.
Like that big incident that happened recently where they took a boat captain hostage?

Oh I get it, joke thread?

LMAO. I heard on the news a week ago that real sea pirates captured a captain or something. I died in laughter.

GBAtemp has nothing to do with piracy, this site is for information only.

Anyway, piracy has always been around, increasing or decreasing, how can anyone possibly tell ?

Maybe those pirates go on ships to steal games. Bet you never thought of that did you now. That's like piracy to the extreme.

Piracy isn't so romantic when the pirates don't have cutlasses, flintlock pistols and aren't singing about rum and such. [IMG]

These pirates threaten cargo ship by sea and air cargo is threatened by Don Karnage!

Do you know why people pirate?
    Its because of this song.

It encourages people to do what they want "because a pirate is free".
The first thing we should do to counter piracy is to remove this to remove this video.

And for the record. Piracy is also stealing movies, music and software. GBAtemp is just Nintendo Wii and DS related I don't think that Wii games get downloaded more often than the newest Heroes, Prison Break, Bleach One Piece or 50 Cent. [IMG]

And yes Maz7006. GBAtemp has a lot to do with piracy, it informs us when the newest games get dumped like ExciteBots so we can go to our favourite torrent/warez/newsgroup/google site to download it.

... and this is what bothers me when someone says that downloading ROMs and ISOs is "piracy". How on Earth acquiring a certain amount of data is the same as boarding a ship, assault rifle in hand, demanding a ransom?

King Zargo, perhaps the video should be removed because it is also pirated. You've provided a link to pirated material!

It is silly to compare 'pirating' of video games to 'pirating' of ships. It's also silly to say GBATemp has nothing to do with video game piracy.
