    Hi Guys,

My priiloader doesn't work properly: If I try to launch straight to the HBC it crashes and I have to switch the wii off at the wall.
Now I am thinking if this is the case I won't be able to save my wii if it ever bricks.

Please can someone give me some step by step instructions on how to solve this problem.

    Thanks

    Zoot

first off, when in priiloader, what version does it say u r using in the bottom right corner

second, u dont need to uninstall it, just upgrade it (u will need to use priiloader to do so, by installing the new priiloader installer boot.dol as file then launching it)

Step by step instructions are only possible if you're 100% certain of the error. And for that to work, you haven't given enough information.

As said: is it the latest version of priiloader? (0.3B at the moment) And which version of HBC are you running? (1.0.6 is the latest at this moment)

EDIT: priiloader's installer also has a function to uninstall it (iirc, it's just pressing the minus button after launching).
Also: keep in mind that the complete guide changes from time to time. And that the hyperlinks it points to also change with each update. So no offense, but saying that you've followed the guide isn't telling that much...

Oh, and maybe a tip: you can force your wii to shut down by holding down the power button 5 seconds. The way you write it makes me think you just yank the power socket, which...isn't the best way to shut down the wii.

Too many priiloader threads, so i'll just ask my question here.

Is Priiloader currantly break safe? Last time I tryed to install it on 4.1 (back when 4.2 came out) it froze and I ended up with a Breaked Wii. (S.M got deleted FYI: black screen on start up)

Luckly my wii had a month of the warrenty left. Told them thier updated did it. Sent mine in and they replaced it with a refurb.

this never happens just because of priiloader.

    obviously a user error.

but i do. you were probably an idiot for ignoring errors, crashes (or even better) updated your wii manually to 4.2 causing a stub sys menu ios

hell, priiloader wasn't even around when 4.2 was released!

It was priiloader..back when it was called something else. It was the only problem i have ever had, with any homebrew so far. No i checked hackmii when 4.2 was released and didn't update. Calling a person an idiot just because you didnt have a problem with software, makes you look like your 5. Grow up and get a life.

I guess you're talking about preloader. Though priiloader builds upon the source code of preloader and is a successor to it, there are very noticeable differences.

Yes, and that includes bugfixes and stability.

Furthermore, priiloader is made (and continues to be improved) by an entirely different coder, so suggesting that priiloader might be buggy because you had a problem with preloader is like blaming person B who is busy fixing errors that person A made.

...except that in this case, person A never really made an error. Preloader might not have been the most user-friendly app ever made, there simply wasn't any code there that actually deleted the system menu. Though considering preloader was made and released before firmware 4.2, and 4.2 did quite some reshuffeling under the hood, using it with 4.2 could have been a bad idea. That doesn't make the program bad, though.

Thought preloader and priiloader were the same program. MY mistake.

I also have a question. It may be Preloader/Priiloader related. I once installed Priiloader, and then reset my Wii. The screen then turned into a black screen, with white letters in the bottom right corner (4.2U). I seem to have forgotten how to fix this issue, does this occur in the current version of Priiloader? If so how do I fix this issue. (It may have had something to do with the system menu IOS)
