So, because the 10+ year old piece of shit I'm typing on is no longer capable of completing schoolwork in record time, my dad wants to get me a new laptop to last me through High School. I'm trying to go for something with a bit of power, but preferably under $1k in USD. Right now, I've been looking at computers with core i7s and NVIDIA graphics chips. These are the ones I've considered so far:

For my studies, at the minimum I need to be able to cleanly run Finale (high end music composition software, I'm a music major), MS Paint (a.k.a God's Gift to Humanity), and basic office suite stuff like Google Docs, or the Libre suite without hiccups. I also may want to play games at a hobbyist level, so I'm also looking for something with preferable 2.5+ Ghz of processing power, 8GBs of RAM or more, and a dedicated graphics card. Thanks in advance for your help!

@Felek666 Is there much of a difference between NVIDIA graphics cards and AMD? I've been trying to find a laptop with an AMD processor but NVIDIA graphics, and I've not had much luck.
