Gaming Physical copy of GTA V

Hi,

my friend is willing to sell me physical copy of GTA V, but since he already used his game and code which came with the game, will I be able to install it and play it online?

Afaik, that code is for Rockstar's online service, so no, don't think you'll be able to play online. As for installing and running the game, I think it should work? But idk, retail copies of PC games are very iffy. A lot of them require registering the game to Steam or another DRM software before it can be played, and GTA V may very well be the same. Would your friend let you try installing it and seeing if it runs? Or maybe give you a refund if it doesn't?

You wont be able to play without the key that came with it. you're better off either pirating it or buying it on steam.

As said above, if the game key has been used already, you won't be able to play it. You'll just be buying an expensive box and install CD.
