Phantasy Star Online eps 1&2 was apparently a brilliant game, however, it was never properly released in Australia and I've never been able to find a copy, so this new GC backup launcher is brilliant. Sadly, the game doesn't work though. Seeing if anything can be done about that, does anyone know why it doesn't work? So far best guesses seem to be something to do with it being unable to access the Gamecube broadband device, however, the game only reuqired that if you went online. It would happily play it in single player without it...

If that is the problem though, would it be possible to add an emulation when you go to launch a game which requires that device, to send the game a signal stating that it's available or something? I have no idea how exactly it works, so if anyone knows anything, please speak up [IMG]

so far it seems that this backup loader won't play all games, I tried playing Starfox Adventures, I booted but then I got an error message

Starfox Adventures runs normal for me, the only exception being the unusual lack of voices...

Would we be able to play online with the wii once it is supported?

No, because the Wii doesn't support the Gamecube Broadband adapter, tis a shame.

I don't mean to revive this thread, but instead of creating a new topic I figured I'd revive.

Anyway I was wondering if there is any progress in being able to load PSO I+II with the backup launcher yet? There's no way I can get a copy around here and I've heard so much good things about this game I'd really love to try.

    Thanks.

Thanks tedster912 but that just shows you how to make backups.

I'm guessing there isn't a way to load PSO until the launcher is updated?

This has nothing to do with playing the game on Wii. PSO used to have a security exploit that allowed launching ISOs via Ethernet, that's what this is about.

For those wanting to play the game, there has been a PC port with both episode 1 and 2, as well as the new episode 4. It's free to play online on a couple of private servers, most notably schthack private server, which is very populated.
