lol you silly person, no it isn't and neither is Wales.

Ask a Scot or Welshman "where do you come from?" they're most likely to say their country's name not the nations. Most of them would love to be separate and therefore not British.*

Ask an Englishman the same question and they're most likely they'll say Britain.

Apart from those in denial who'll say some fad country...though Italy isn't a fad...yet.
