Penko DS ver 0.1A DLDI

an MSX emulator for the DS

PenkoDS is an emulator MSX2 for Nintendo DS. It is based on Marat Fayzullin's fmsx.

Emulation is almost running full speed : currently 75% on average (about 30 to 40% faster than nyagosu's fmsx port from which I've taken the the keyboard's management and the joystick).



The main functionalities are the following:

- A resize mode to manage the various resolutions of the MSX.

- DLDI support

- Roms and discs support.

- Sound Management



End user only has to copy the rom to the root or the /rom/msx directory of his flashcard,then patch the rom with DLDI drivers.

Hey I used to have an MSX2 !!!
Actually it was an MSX2+, one of my favorite home computers from the 80's, and actually some time ago I went on to collect some of its best games in rom, dsk an tap format (tap only for MSX1 games), so I have quite a few stored somewhere.
I didn't expect to see an MSX2 emulator on the DS, at the most just an MSX !
I think those games will look and play beautifully on the DS.
I gotta try this out. Thanks for the news !

It works like a charm ! I couldn't believe it.
Very easy user interface, I just placed the nds file along with a few .dsk and .rom files and once inside the application I only had to press select to bring up the simple loading menu.
Not too many options to fiddle around, which is good , but some more flexible configuration might have been useful.
The games I tried all work great with an already decent speed, but the sound was very bad and out of sync.
Maybe I should have patched the roms somehow, I just plain copied the files to the SD card in my SC.

I couldn't get the rom-loading to work even though I patched the file with the latest DLDI for SuperCard Lite.

Did you try without patching it ?
I think you only need to patch it if you use a slot-1 card.
I didn't patch it and it runs pretty well on my SC sd, I only have problems with the sound now, but maybe htere's a way to fix it.
Just drag and drop the emulator and a few .dsk and rom on the root of tour card and see what happens......

So do you mean it's buggy because it doesn't work or is it buggy because it's working on your Supercard miniSD....
And what kind of bugs did you noticed, was it also sound related, like mines or did you have any trouble loading disk and rom images ?

Also does anybody know if there is an official site or forum to talk about PenkoDS , because on the link provided on the splash screen I didn't find anything related.....
