Does the round mean design a game/app for the system, or make an emulator for it.

    to each his own...

pdroms has made no distinction between emulators or games/apps for the allowed systems. wait until the 1st of april and see what announcements they make.

A Nerd-Ho looks good on paper, but let me tell you something about Nerd-Ho's. It was a Nerd-Ho that brought Mitnick down. A different Nerd-Ho shorted Worldcom common stock the weekend before it went to 0.

    Nerd-Ho's fart.

Nerd-Ho's were in the percussion section of the college marching band.

    Nerd-Ho's drink Ripple.

    Nerd-Ho's have Nerd babies.

    Don't do it, Dudes. srsly

Holy crap at the wall of deleted posts!

This is s'posed to be about a coding compo. So keep the discussion to programming related topics like mammory management and Iseriouslywanttomotorboatthosesobad routines and source code swapping.

It sounds like it has to be an application that runs on one of the named retro systems (look at the PDRoms website, it's pretty obvious given the content of the site). So writing an emulator for the Atari 2600 that runs on a PC wouldn't cut it. The site says they'll release full details on the 1st of April so we'll probably get a bit more clarification then.

if something is entertaining it isn't obsolete. the problem with modern systems is that they have traded 3D graphics for fun. games use to be really fun to just sit down and play. now all they are is a collection of pretty graphics and extra hard boss battles. all those pretty pixels didn't matter before, games were well designed. i still pull out my original 2600 and hook it up on occasion. the games are as fun today as they were in 1983.
