Because it's not REALLY about priacy. Piracy is just an excuse to not share and still show off. That war is over now. So I'm not even going to discuss my view on the ethics. Just know that piracy was never a real issue for devs.I just wish in general that 3DS devs were a bit more open with their discoveries.
For example: the current NTR patch which allows for eShop access on 9.2 was apparently known for ages among a lot of 3DS developers. Everyone else had to buy a gateway and set up emuNAND, until even that stopped working.
A somewhat less extreme example: there was about a month (I think?) between the release of Bootstrap and Decrypt9. In that time, there was no public way to generate firmware Xorpads, even though the KARL devs had implemented such an ability. I found an accidentally-uploaded Payload on Github and was able to use it to play around with region changing before anyone else could.
I understand the need to be careful with regards to piracy (which, for whatever it's worth, I'm not a fan of), but some of these things seem as though they were kept secret for no reason. And that's what leads to people endlessly scouring Pastebin in the first place.
