I just wish in general that 3DS devs were a bit more open with their discoveries.

For example: the current NTR patch which allows for eShop access on 9.2 was apparently known for ages among a lot of 3DS developers. Everyone else had to buy a gateway and set up emuNAND, until even that stopped working.

A somewhat less extreme example: there was about a month (I think?) between the release of Bootstrap and Decrypt9. In that time, there was no public way to generate firmware Xorpads, even though the KARL devs had implemented such an ability. I found an accidentally-uploaded Payload on Github and was able to use it to play around with region changing before anyone else could.

I understand the need to be careful with regards to piracy (which, for whatever it's worth, I'm not a fan of), but some of these things seem as though they were kept secret for no reason. And that's what leads to people endlessly scouring Pastebin in the first place.
Because it's not REALLY about priacy. Piracy is just an excuse to not share and still show off. That war is over now. So I'm not even going to discuss my view on the ethics. Just know that piracy was never a real issue for devs.

I am using CubicNinja to launch FBI, but I keep getting error messages when I try to install CIAs. The error messages are "Install failed! Raw error: 0xe0e083ee, Module: AM (0x20) Level: Usage (0x1c) Summary: Invalid argument (0x7) Description: invalid combination (0x3ee). "

It is giving me this error and I did first boot into Pasta CFW then launched Cubic Ninja again to load FBI. Still won't work. I did the "software management" as suggested in the OP. I am confused. Ever since I lost 4 Swords on my DSiXL this is all I wanted. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Didn't you said you have a gateway? Why don't you use it to install bbm in your sysnand?

I understand why PastaCFW's existence might threaten Karl3DS. But if the devs choose to drop the project, that will be because they chose that path. I would hope people wouldn't simply make PastaCFW and the poster of it the scapegoat here. Perhaps the best thing that could come of this is that Karl3DS does come out and has a lot more features and can stand on it's own without sig checks patched out. If they really believe this PastaCFW thing is going to fizzle out, then prove it. Work on Karl3DS and when you think it's ready, release it and prove them wrong. Isn't that how competition works? Generally that results in a better product at the end of the day and at least now Gateway and company doesn't have a monopoly anymore and I would have thought that's better then before. Of coarse I personally don't believe Karl3DS will be canceled because of this.

I haven't read anywhere that Karl3DS would be canceled or suffer harm by the words of the devs working on it. Seems like a lot of fear mongering and speculation. This has dragged on too long. I think this will be my last post here on this subject. On to better things I would hope. :D

I did not want to offend you capito27, if so I am sorry. But I was simply stating facts and thanks for reaffirming it.

As for KARL not being the only devs, that is true. But as they say, the past is the best predictor for the future, so where are the other devs contributing to a CFW?
Almost *ALL* of them that have the experience and knowledge are AGAINST piracy, and are *VERY* careful with what they release to the public.

I'm sorry if you do not realise this yet.
See my latest post. Piracy protection is a lie. Sorry if you haven't realised that yet.

That's silly.

Releasing things and seeing people use them feels much more rewarding then just showing off.
If that were true it would have been done from the beginning. And devs themselves wouldn't pirate. But that doesn't matter. That debate is over. If they quit, oh well. They weren't going to share anything anyway.

I can understand why some people will not permit piracy (being sued, bringing the company down (anybody remember the Dreamcast) or just plain ethical reasons).

So that's why I don't complain, act like a cry-baby or do what kids do (they're never satisfied).

I simply enjoy what is shared and I STFU.

If Devs wanna share, they will and you can't curse them for not doing so. It's their right.
So just appreciate what we're given and please stop complaining.

I had so much fun these past 2 days and I enjoy Pasta CFW enormously.
I'm sure capito27, motezazer and others will make Pasta better...
Be patient and read the thread for all your answers.

I just came back to this forum to check some things and all I've got to say is.... I REALLY want a Mother 3 VC ROM, Lol.
In all seriousness, the piracy CFW has finally happened, and one with working GBA games at that. I'll be keepin a watchto see when there's a way to inject GBA games without the 4 mb limit and the super slowness, as I REALLY want to replay Mother 3 on my 3DS + Fire Emblem 7.

Before pasta cfw people had to keep their polite masks on and beg KARL dev team for a release.

Now that a ROM loader is out, people are no longer waiting for KARL and showing their true self... and it is ugly

I think it's a huge relief for everyone.

People can now stop pretending that everyone else is entitled, and just download the "firmware" they want to use.

I am wondering, why all the hate against my lack of knowledge on C (at no point I stated my knowledge about other languages...)? I am a newbie when it comes to 3DS developpment, i admit it, but non the less, is that a reason to bash the fact that i simply put together aPROVISORY solution that would enable signature checks to be disabled for the public

This is not a "Dev CFW", this is a "Comunitiy CFW", to be improved upon by anyone and everyone that can or want to.

You obviously have your oppinions about piracy (and me ?), and i will not try to change them, it would be a pointless argument.
That's what people do on GBATemp.

But Cubic Ninja itself won't work on 8.1J... right?

Most likely, but at least we have the offsets for when a new EP is releases for n3DS.
I might be totally wrong about the CN part tho, (since, you know, I don't even own a CN cartridge or sky3ds ^^'' [yeah, that doesn't help with development in my end, but I have my guinea pig tester :P])

WOW great release.
Been gone for two weeks cramming for finals so this is awesome to see.

Just a quick question (which im sure has been asked many times)
Can this be ran through Gateway in order to install .cias to system nand?
Specifically, im looking to just install some gba games and dsi ware i can't run on gateway.

Thanks for any answers, sorry again if this is a recurring question.

Apparently not, but I don't have a GateWait to confirm.
